Chevy volt gen 2 interest, Aust/NZ

Got something to sell? Have extra parts that need a good home? Have something that others would need to complete their kits? Post it up here and see if anyone else is searching for what you are selling.

Chevy volt gen 2 interest, Aust/NZ

Post by Stevebequik » May 06 2019 4:52pm

I am about to hit the go button an import a 2016 Chevy Volt battery.
This is a 96s2p 52amp 18.4kw complete.

I plan on building one 21s2p 4kw battery for my bike and one 21s1p 2kw battery for my sons bike.

This will leave about 12kw left over.
Just gauging interest. Will be around $300aud per kw by the time I pay gst & customs.

Any interest?

Try forums.aeva.asn.au as well. Most of those guys will jump on this.
GNG offroad build on Craftworks DHR with 12S2P lipo. Light, balanced, powerful, able to climb a tree.
Project Vectrii (2) - status - Finished. Nope. 38S Leaf cells are next. Now have 2 of them - Averages 50Wh/Klm

Will be about 6 weeks by the time I receive, disassemble, and test.

Hi is this a powerwall play (without having to spend hours recycling batteries) or an EV thing only ?

There are plenty of people particularly in USA using these for their off grid battery banks. Heaps of info/YouTube’s online.
They come as a 16s 3kw module. So you need an inverter that can charge up to 66v.
I’m using 2014 gen 1 for my home setup. These come as 12s 2kw module. Been faultless for 3 years now.
