Is the extra EX battery the same as the one that mounts in the downtube (are they interchangeable?) or does it only work externally with separate electrical connection?

The two batteries on the EX are different shapes / designs. You cannot use them interchangeably.

Guys I'd like to share my Facebook channel out to you. It's predominantly aimed at UK-based prospective customers for any of the Frey model range of bikes, including the new CC and EX models that I'm sure you've read about now. Please feel free to LIKE and FOLLOW the page.

https://www.facebook.com/AdrenalineEbikes

I'll be bringing you details on how to buy - either direct from Frey in China, or through my company as their UK Distributor. Pricing is totally transparent and we're working for you to bring the best value high quality eBikes to the UK.

I will be also be bringing interesting news, views and articles around the eBiking scene covering aspects such as UK law and riding on UK roads as well as the dreaded anti-dumping tax.

Please don't forget you can also reach out to me directly at simon_orsborn@yahoo.co.uk for any specification & pricing details.

Best regards,

Simon Orsborn M.Eng., Company Owner & Director.
Adrenaline eBikes Limited.
Company Number: 12255483.
Anti-dumping tax... Who the f**k cares about this if Frey has delivered all their orders to EU-zone without any issues? I couldn’t care less if Frey breaks some Polish customs regulations if I get the bike fast and without any hassle or tax!

Hey don’t fall into this guy’s trap! This middleman can go and enjoy his Brexit-mayhem by himself and see how no-one dares to buy anything from UK. If you’re afraid of surprise taxes, don’t buy anything from UK! Let those cocky w*nkers enjoy isolation from common markets.

UK will have customs border and tax-walls with 27 more countries. The whole EU with only 1. Take a wild guess who loses more?

Glad to see robocam again and read your latest posts here!

I would like to say that many Chinese producer still in low end OEM supplying area but also there will be more company standout by some of their own advantage, for example, some technology, special production positioning, better service, good interaction, and so on.

To us FREY, we are building a brand under principle: co-operation, sharing and co-creation.
We design and develop every bike model just by ourselves and also produce special frame components by ourselves, only welding frames by frame producing factory which we work together.
We have our own patents for our bike and frames. for example, AM1000 and some more bikes.

We are open mind to learn more ideas from customers, and some of them will join in our creations.

By the way, our brand FREY means: Free Ride Enjoy Yourself! that's a positive life attitude we are doing and sharing with customers together!

Thank you :) Glad to see you too! I've been seeing a lot of news about the new models you've come out with. Congratulations!

I can personally attest to the fact that Frey listens to suggestions because some of my ideas for frame modifications have been implemented, and I appreciate that! Things are continually improving!

Oh, I like what your name means!

I've read the bafang M600 is governed at 28 mph and there is no way to override factory lock through the display. Is this accurate?

The speed limit varies depending on who you buy it from. Maybe you can ask Frey to see if they can have it programmed to 56mph.

Yes they are programmed to 45km/h. You cannot adjust the speed limit because it is set in firmware. It won't go much faster than 45km/h anyway. There is not enough power

My experience is that the pedal assist cuts out at 40kph (25mph). It will only go to 45kph (28mph) if you use the throttle. I was thinking it was just my version of the M600 but the Luna X1 boys are reporting the same. At first it was thought that the gearing was the governing factor but this has since been taken out of the equation with many now using a 38 or 40 tooth chainring.

There is also a convoluted speed override that you can do through the control buttons that will give you 45kph through the pedal assist but i have never bothered to try it.

As Animalector said, there really isn't enough power to go much faster then 45kph and even with a 40 tooth chainring, you would be spinning like a mad man to get above 45kph.

Actually, it appears they were too quick to assume that a speed limit existed for the pedal assistance. Michael has shown that he can activate the assist as high as 30mph. It seems that people weren't pedaling hard enough.

https://electricbike.com/forum/forum/kn ... #post95769

To activate the "override"/boost function, press the + button until the boost icon is displayed (it's a letter B with three lines next to it). Then press and hold the power button.

Here's a chart I made for a 42T front chainring. The cadences at the higher speeds aren't too extreme. I made one for km/h as well. I will install a 42T in mine to confirm fit. I also have a 40T I will test.

I just installed a 42T chainring on my X-1, and I can confirm that the pedal assist on the M600 does not stop at 25mph. In fact, I got it up to 30mph on flat ground using pedal assist (no throttle).

are you using a throttle? is it speed limited?

I'm interested to know if it's a failure because it pushing the limits or if it is just a failure.

Thanks
