So I bought a KT 6 mosfets controller
Is it a ZWSR type (no phase current sensor) or a SVPR type (with phase current sensor)?

Is there anyway to use some kind of physical control switch for changing PAS levels with the android app, without an LCD3 or compatable dashboard connected?
Not yet, we'll wait for your reports :-)

OK, first: you have to set the phase current limit to a much higher value than the battery current limit. e.g. max battery current = 15 amps --> max phase current = 30 amps. I'll add that hint to the wiki.

If this doesn't help, you have to test differerent values for the Motor specific angle. All other parameters have no or just very little influence on the motor commutation.

Ok ! Can you explain what value to set if I want 15A max ? 150 right ?

Anyone seen these controllers before (ZWSRLT series)? (its kt and says its sine and square with automatic changeover). Tested it, it works both with hall connected and without but no change in efficiency or current draw. The main chip they use is different (it only has 1824w4 written on it, no brand) and the pcb board is different (see pictures). It seems like the current open source software wont work on it, since it does not have the connection points for the stm programmer nor does the main chip seem to be stm. They use x4 for the sersored/sensorless mode. The chip that handles the hall sensors seems to be stm brand.

Anyone else received one of these? (I bought one from aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3223310 ... 4c4d81eEfj -12 fet one without bluetooth thinking it would be the sine wave one but received the dual mode). I know ZW means it square wave, I think the SR means sine wave though. There are a few more listed on aliexpress like it: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000192 ... b201603_55

Has anyone used this firmware with a Mac 10T motor, and could they recommend motor settings that will work smoothly?

I'm using a PSWpower 20A sinewave KT controller, and I'd like to get rid of the fork judder at medium speeds and medium PAS levels.

I've found that the three valid forward phase wiring combinations give different levels of noise, which I didn't expect. My understanding was that the three valid forward wiring combinations would work just as well as each other, but this doesn't seem the case.

sorry, in this case, the firmware can't help, as it's a known problem of the capacitors used in the KT controllers. The combination of the motorcoil inductance and the capacitance in the controller seems to lead to a resonance issue, that can't be solved by software.

Protocols of J-LCD and KM5S are implemented, but only J-LCD is really tested.

How would I wire up a torque sensing BB? I have been trying to look through the code, but have been unable to figure out which pins are used for torque sensing and direction.

EDIT: looking back, it seems like I won't be able to connect both a torque sensing BB and a throttle, is that correct?

@stancecoke
Could X4 be used in place of the throttle wire? Or is that a digital input?

You can use x4 for the torque signal, if you want to use the throttle in parallel.
We discussed that in the german forum just a few days ago, I added the information about the wiring to the german forum.
https://www.pedelecforum.de/wiki/doku.p ... einbindung

The function is not implemented in the code yet. But it is very easy to do. I made the offer to publish a "quick-and-dirty" solution in an extra branch, if someone asks for it seriously.

Thanks for the reply, do you know if there are any unused digital inputs that could be used for the direction sensing on Sempu cranks?

Also do you know of any unused outputs? I was thinking of implementing a brake light, such that when the brakes are engaged the controller could be used to signal a brake light (using a relay).

Has anyone tried changing the capacitors to solve the resonance issue?

What the worst that would happen if I tried a different king meter LCD that wasn't fully compatible? Would the LCD settings mess with the firmware? Or could I safely use it as a dummy display for speed and battery life, ignoring the rest?
Thanks

I read further and realize I need a supported LCD. All good. One other thing though, do I hook the throttle or the torque sensor to X4? maybe because they're in parallel this doesn't matter?

I would suggest to connect the torque-signal to X4, as the plug of the throttle may fit to the controller as it is...

Hi all,
does someone know if this controller is compatible with the open source firmware?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3297293 ... 628f3S4Fh0

I've a rear hub bafang 500w motor. Do you suggest this controller or the 1000W version?

Thanks

Doesn't seem likely possible as far (as I can tell) without the source files of the apk. So I'm just building the LCD3 pcb right into my phone mount and I'll run both at once this way to achieve button control 😁

I have quite the same question but the other way around : I have a 36/48V version, but I want to run it at 52V.
The FETs and caps were changed to their 80V counterparts to accomodate higher voltage (and I am thinking about changing the LM317 regulator*), but is there any hardware modification to make this controller work with 14S battery ? (voltage limits or other)

*edit : original LM317T replaced by TL783CKCSE3.
Noone knows ?
For the sake of documentation. I did this with one Pswpower from 2014 or so, but blew up my controller. I failed to determine the reason. But I did the same now with a pswpower from 2018 late, and the design is very much changed. All caps except one is ok for up to 63v. I just changed one next to the lm317 to a 63v rate, mosfets (csd19506kcs), and replaced lm317 with a lm317ahv variant. I did not have time to test it properly but with stock firmware and a battety charge at 57v, seems to pull up fine up to 1kw. I want to change the lm317 with a switching psu, but this time I wanted minimal risk.

I will report how is the low voltage working etc. Again with stock firmware.

Guys, what is the best 6fet controller for this firmware? I saw you were discussing about one type with phase current sensor, and so.

Hi, I had a look through this thread, but couldn't find a good answer to this question.

Does anyone know what the best 18 FET controller (~2Kw) that is available? Had a look around the usual sources, and can only seem to find the ZWS models without sensor.

Thanks in advance

@Xnyle,

I've just tested your 'X4 throttle' branch and can confirm that, for me, it works faultlessly. Certainly better than my cobbled up torquesensor and throttle wired in parallel method...

This Torquesensor with throttle override option is perfect for my needs, many thanks for your efforts.

as far I know, there is no 18FET KT controller. I have the 72V 40A 12FET KT controller from BMSBattery. I think its the most you can get
