Kunray my1020 pole pairs?

Post by gbruhin » May 25 2020 3:18pm

Hi, i'm experimenting cheap my1020 kunray 48v 2000w and 72v 3000w with sabvoton controller. It looks like i get those to work together also if cabling requires some expérimentation...

Has anyone any idea on how many pole pairs kunray motors have? 6?

What about kunray motor performance, compared to qs for example?

Best regards

Mark the shaft or sprocket tooth with dot, and another on the casing aligned with it.

Monitor one of the hall signals (doesnt' matter which) so you can see it toggle on and off with magnet passage.

Manually rotate the motor, very slowly, watching the signal toggle on and off. Count how many toggles you get in one rotation of the motor.

That should be the number of pole pairs you have. (it may be twice the number).

thanks, the usual voltage for hall sensors is 5v right ? Based on te images of the post: viewtopic.php?t=100331 how can qwerkus say there are 6 pole pairs ?

The power supply voltage is usually 5v (sometimes 12v, most of the sensors used can take up to 24, even 30v. The internal controller pullup voltage on each signal wire can be whatever, up to the max of the sensor, as the halls just ground the pullup voltage when they turn on, otherwise the output floats to whatever the pullup is connected to (5v typical in generic ebike controllers, others like some kelly/etc may use 12v as it makes a better more reliable signal in a noisy environment like a motor).

If you mean this one, then I see six magnets in a circle. If they are each magnetized as pole pairs then I guess it would be six. If they're only one pole each, then it's 3 pole pairs. Qwerkus said "6 poles", so he means it's 3 pole pairs.

I have it on authority from coleasterling who has checked that the magnets are single pole so there are 3 pole pairs.
