Still working on the battery part, actually. And Luna Cycles batteries will be difficult to beat price wise...
I'll probably do a battery more customized for high voltage and to fit the Vector frame.

Thanks arkmundi. Forum rules don't allow me to link to my employer.

I will not steer you to EBK mr noob, unless your needs are filled by what EBK sells. I work for EBK, yet send people to other sellers all the time. Many have a need for a lower price.

The others that are top of the list are

Grin Technology, AKA Ebikes-ca That's Justin, who pays for this website to be free of ads. Best place for a strong Direct drive, Cycleanalysts, or really good controllers and chargers. THE place for a pedal controlled bike system based on a thun.

EM3ev is another with a stellar reputation. Paul's got the Bafang mid drive btw.

E Bikes San Francisco for sure. Is he back? He was shut down for a while I thought.

I thought Amped had shut down, am I wrong?

Other well established USA retailers, High Power Cycles, Electric Rider.

Plus god knows how many local electric bike shops out there. EBK has 290 bike shops listed that can install our kit for a customer now.

The kind of shop to avoid though, is some guy selling cheap ebikes and scooters from the vape store or gas station.

For a really inexpensive kit, Yes.com, or Asolo on Amazon.

Take note, some big players out there, NOT on the list!

I'm fond over Lightning Rods for some reason, Im just impressed with its power, they are expensive.
his kit has been run at 48V and 72V, the motor runs cool at 30A, and gets warm at 40A. Using 72V X 40A =2,800W, and this is the most power that should be run through the bikes gears
Lots of people have had great success from the BBS02, Im still on the fence about it myself. Its appealing in many ways. But for heavier/fatter people like myself who tops off at 325lbs, but stretched to a 6'6" frame, I dont know how it would fare. Good solid choice though I must admit.

Shipping & Handling will add atleast $100 if not more, probably more like $130-$150 in additional cost.
Its a good solid choice, go for it!

The battery alone is worth $300 easy, who knows what the specs are though. I bet 20Acont/40Amax discharge.

If the cells are a 25R cell (High-power) you should be OK with that battery. If they are a lower-spec cell, they may not be able to handle the 25A of current required by the BBS02 controller. It's worth asking what model cell they use in that battery, and what the BMS is rated for continuous and max discharge current.

Also find out how much shipping cost is.

If Samsung 25R cells, and a 25A Continuous Discharge BMS, that would be a darn good deal.

Are the battery specs good? Is it a good battery for this kit and will it have around 20 mile range and around 20 mph top speed? And torque?

Looks like shipping is just under $150.

Get the 44T chainring. Lower top speed and less likely to blow the controller.

They don't specify the cell model. You will have to ask.

What does a chain ring mean? The lower the number, the lower the top speed?

That's just the name GBK gives their product. You want to know what type of cell is inside that battery. Believe it or not the cell model makes a HUGE difference.

So probably not the 25R cells.

Given that it's the 500W version (programmed for 18A max) its probably an acceptable battery.

So according to my usage, is this a solid kit to purchase? Lol....

My weight: 180~ lbs. (81 kg)
My bike : Trek Verve 3 (Hybrid)
Location: Cleveland, OH, USA
---------------------------------------------------------
Motor kit for 700cc (28-29inch tires) with throttle and PAS

Desired top motor speed: around 20 mph (32kph) on level ground
Desired top speed while pedaling: between 20-30 mph (32-48kph)
Desired range: About 20 miles (32 km) with mild pedaling at around 15 mph (24 kph)
Will probably commute on average about 8 miles (16 km) a day

Terrain: 92% street 8% off road
Flat to mild hills, mild dirt paths and grass
-NO extreme mountain biking-

Brakes: Doesn't matter, as long as it works great and bike stops in the end lol.
