USA Stock of BMS's?

Post by destro23 » Apr 14 2020 8:41am

Does anyone in here know of any reputable BMS sellers with a USA stock?

I'm just looking for 48v/13s and 52v/14s BMS's with balancing. I'm not sure the current delivery times from china.

Thanks!

I actually have gotten both of the BMSs you listed from Daly in China. Cost was about $25 each and I received them in two weeks.

Just go to their website and start and inquiry.

95 precent of all bms's made in China. Frist Isa cannot match the and does not want to take the responsibility if you burn your house down because of a bad $25 BMS. They can just make them very cheap and when they make them so cheap there are a potential fire hazard. Not worth it for the low profit.

I would follow the threads. I like a Bluetooth one. How many amps ddo you need and or how big a pack as ah are you going to build . What motor and controller ? All relevant.
I don't run a BMS as my pack is 20ah. But I can't let my friends borrow it as it doesn't have a BMS. Catch 22 if it's not for you you need a BMS . So I use 4-6s sense wires and a 6s cell checker. Plus high quality cells.

Needs to be semi safe charging as other May ride it and throw it on charger. I have a magic pie v5 25a wheel. I’m gonna build a 48v 5x13 17.5Ah pack with GA3500’s. It seems https://www.lithiumbatterypcb.com/produ ... smart-bms/ keeps coming up as I’m reading... I’ll keep digging. Thanks for the replies!

So a 40amp BMS is fine. I like Bluetooth as there a few good threads in this battery section with support.

Oh USA does not make a cheap BMS because too much liability for too little of profit.

I'd be surprised if any commercial BMS were made in the US?

Not counting hobby, kickstarter type projects. . .

Jeez. I thought my $25 BMS was like Cadillac/Lexus quality. They put the $5 BMS in most of my batteries.

No, anything under $150-200 is cheap-Chinesium.

But even with ones costing thousands I still would not trust it too much, plan around all possible failure modes.

Or do without, put in OTS devices for each specific function you want.

But that is more expensive.
