Re: adjustable Servo speed circuit [ramp control]

Jeremy Iv'e been tinkering with Picaxe micros at the moment and am trying to work out how to insert one inline with the throttle to make a 'current throttle'. Iv'e been slowly learning the basics of PID control (and Picaxe basic) that I would need to get this to work on a picaxe. The 20X series chip...

Re: gears, why not use an old bikes derailleur shifter mecha

I think you will tear the tyre apart quite quickly with the cone type fricton drive.
As it pushes down into the tyre for grip the contact patch widens, this area sees different speeds across the cone.
I could be wrong, but just visualizing it my mind it seems it can't work.

Re: Kona Stinky build

Mark I'm not banging the bike around to much and the suspension really takes out any big shunts on the beam rack. I check it all the time and no problems so far, but i will take on board your comments. Somebody mentioned stuffing something inside the seatpost as well. My 14s 1p of Lipos just turned ...

Re: Kona Stinky build

The controller is the EB206 with new fets & shunt soldered up a bit. I am keeping it at 40amps max for the pings sake. I am looking at lipos in the triangle.... or even the ping...just have to pull it apart and rejig the cells....mmm maybe not. The ping cost me $1000au so I think I'll leave it as is...

Re: Kona Stinky build

yep, like the look of that seat. I feel a lot more confident now heading offroad with a bike I know that can take it. It's also alot more stable. I'm only putting 2000w max though it at about 55km/h and it still feels good at this speed. Did a 65km trip around the 'downs' yesterday and used 12.5A/hr...

Kona Stinky build

My original ebike frame was an ebay ‘Special’ I built up, so I thought before I kill myself I’d better upgrade to a decent bike. I wanted a strong frame, good suspension and large hydraulic disk brakes. I found a well used but mechanically good Kona Stinky for the right price tha...

Re: Thread on GM hubs nonstandard?

Thread looks good. Maybe the IRD has some strange thread.
Thanks that makes me feel a little more comfortable being that I ordered a shimano freewheel yesterday.

Thanks Eddie

Re: Thread on GM hubs nonstandard?

When I screw the IRD freewheel on it goes on perfect for 2 turns then tightens/binds at 3 turns max. No cross theading and both threads look good. I can screw the old freewheel on and off no problems. I got a PM from GCinDC that he had the same problem with a GM hub. Looks like not all freewheel thr...

Thread on GM hubs nonstandard?

Hi, I got my GM hub with the freewheel attached. It was getting really noisy so I found an IRD 11 32 freewheel to replace it. I bought a Park freewheel tool and removed the old one but when I tried to thread the new one on it only went on about 2 to 3 turns!!!!! before it bound up. I have a diskbrak...

Re: Kona Stinky rear alloy swing arm to 150mm

John,

I'm not planning to go that fast...... :D Well not yet...
But thanks for your concern.
I had the rear wheel off and gave the dropout a little pressure. 3mm easy 5mm hard.
So if I need to open it at all 3mm will be max.

Re: Kona Stinky rear alloy swing arm to 150mm

Thanks for the replys, In the end maybe I can get away with 3-5mm spread, all depends on the disk rotor and caliper. Maybe a little grind to the frame as drunkskunk suggested in a PM to clear the rotor. I'll post some pics when I get it done. But I wont go over 5mm spread whatever happens now after ...

Kona Stinky rear alloy swing arm to 150mm

Hi, I have a Kona Stinky I am about to fit a GM 1000w hub motor to. I would love to keep the disk brake. I am a bit worried about damaging the swing arm while spreading it to 150mm from 135mm. Has anybody done this to this bike, and how did you do it?....with a jack?.... I guess I am after some sort...

Thinest Diskbrake Caliper -Hub motor clearance?

Hi, Can't find any info on dimmensions of Diskbrake calipers other than mounting info. I want to know the distance from the rotor inwards for clearance to a hub motor. Does anyone have any info on this or suggestions on a good 'thin' caliper? Any brand, mechanical or hydraulic(prefered). Thanks Eddie

Re: Methods 100V 100A Programmable Regen Controller

This is possible, I just added programming cables to 2 new 206 boards and only one will program. I Checked eveything was the same between both boards but only one programs. Is it possible there is different software on the MCU?

Re: CA connection to 206 board HE pin, no NPN

Mike
Must have zapped the MCU. Iv'e treid everything to program it, nothing works.
Iv'e ordered a new controller.
One question. If a switch is used on the Gnd wire do you have it open when you plug in then close it to program, or the reverse.

Mike,
I am doing both. I plug in the header to the USB and then I switch the +5v USB power to the two +5v points on the board as per the instructions from Lyen I found in another post
