Re: BMS with optional Bottom and/or Top Balancing

Only problem is you implied/wrote 16S in several posts And what? 16S **is** 48V He has never been unclear, just your understanding is faulty. He is using the 14S charger to balance 8 cells at a time on his packs. Easy peasy. . . Why do you think the 7S checker would be particularly useful? I agree ...

Re: BMS with optional Bottom and/or Top Balancing

I have two lifepo4 batteries 1°= 48v 30A 2-3c. 2°= 48v 7,5A 30c Please link, ideally to the cells used. What is the 2-3c 30c supposed to mean, and came from where? > no need to advertise the balancers what balancers? and why not specify, link to them? are the continuous discharge c. (not max) 1° ch...

To connect the Gophert to this:
THUNDER POWER RC 1430C DC
charger, discharger and balancer
1000 Watt

Re: Chargery 16S Lipo/LiFePO4 Monitor

Ask specific questions to clarify what you don't understand, after googling a bit. Holding Absorb / CV too long is by definition overcharging even at 3.43Vpc, before you were talking until trailing current drops to 0A! As stated, consequences include reduced pack longevity, worst case fire, can eas...

Re: Chargery 16S Lipo/LiFePO4 Monitor

A relay capable of interrupting the AC input to that Gophert PSU would be so cheap, it would be silly not to use the BMS to terminate the charge cycle directly rather than just sit there beeping. i think my gophert doesn't need hvc, when I charge the 16s battery at 54.7v or more, in the final it go...

Do you know how much is set for lifepo4 cell the high voltage alarm? You keep resurrecting zombie threads! Few members around in 2014 are likely to still hang out here. And the data in threads that old is best left archived, tech marches on. Some LFP makers spec 3.6V or even higher as a "stress max...

[/b] . s. And? Are you going to buy that then? I'm not saying you should "use a BMS" as in all the time. But, if the BM16 does not suit you (why not?) then using (whatever) BMS just for charge control, will give you more than just an alarm, actually terminate charging of your PSU when any cell hits...

Re: BMS with optional Bottom and/or Top Balancing

There are no CellLogs anymore as you've already been told. 99.99% of users do automated top-balancing. There is no point to bottom balancing, unless that is the only balancing you do. There is also no point to check for imbalance, except at the voltage where you do your balancing, again as you've a...

Better to get a charger that will stop automatically. Alarm or HVC - means cutoff - is just in case that fails so keeps charging, cutoff charger source is best................. What previous scenario have you experienced where you wished you would have at least had a "dumb smart" BMS with a high voltage alarm? By "dumb Smart" referring to a non-bluetooth BMS with preset voltage alarm (200mV disparity). What you may be referring to is an alarm when the voltages between any...
