Don't bother with LiFePO4 as they are too big & too heavy compared to regular 18650's.
I pedal symbolically, so (it doesn't affect) I don't have a big weight problem.

Re: Li-ion cells cycle ageing

Replies from another forum (translated): But it's true that a 36V 10Ah loses something every year, and after three or four years you have to change it, but it's also true that if you make a 25Ah battery it will last long enough since it's not used like the classic 10Ah batteries. If you want to have...

Re: Lithium battery manufacturer question

Has anybody ever heard of or used batteries from Qinhuangdao Xinchi Photoelectricity Technology Co.,Ltd.? https://m.made-in-china.com/company-lithiumionbattery/ I'm looking at these cells with interest: lifepo4 cells 21700 3000mah (68g.), to make a package from 48v 27Ah, and that would be about 10 k...

Re: Li-ion cells cycle ageing

Sorry about the translation but I didn't understand: IRL 500 cycles is a lot. I don't need specifically, more or less. 100 cycles per year. I'll discharge the battery at 1c, and i charge it at 0.5c., winter temperature + 10-15  °C, summer +30-35  °C, theoretically how many years will they last? or h...

N................ If I were to take as an example: (LG INR21700-M50T 5000mAh - 7.3A) or (Samsung INR21700-50E 5000mAh - 10A) to make a battery of 15s 35Ah, and i use them with maximum discharge 1c, and charge 0.5c, 2 cycles per week, with winter temperature + 10-15  °C, and in summer +30-35  °C, th...

Re: limiting motor speed by rpm rather than power?

I changed hub and I'm adjusting the speed (even pas to 60%), and at 12Ah and 30 phase I still see too much power and torque, and I have to lower the continuous amps again.
I think infineon 12 fet (mine is em3ev) would work for you, or the nucular (6f?).

Re: Li-ion cells cycle ageing

Good test, but to be more real I'd like to know how many amps the new cells lose each year. (used normally). Because if they lose more than 10% every year, I don't convert: I stay with my lifepo4 (8 years with 75-80%). is that right, do you think? is it the same with the usual e-bike batteries? (ca...

Range 20 wheel 92 km at 45.8kph, Batt Power 640W. Range 26 wheel 69 km at 54.3kph 974W. Not a good comparison, because aerodynamics affect the wattage per mph quite a bit at those higher speeds. You have to compare at the same speed, sadly. :) you're right, thanks for the correction :bigthumb: I us...

Oh, there were plenty of laws surrounding horses in cities back around the 1900's.
Sure, it's not like they were crazy in the city, I usually want to go over 25km/h out of town.

Re: small wheel efficiency

There are drawbacks on the small wheels in the rear, bumps and chain ring size. I may start planning to put two of grins all axel V2 motors on the front of a trike in 24" rims @ 72V so I can have my 29er rear wheel and 11 speed cassette. with double suspension it gets better, I'm not young and I us...

We're becoming slaves to bureaucrats.
25km/h at 1000W I wouldn't complain,
but at 250w it's too soft, a horse has over 700W,
It goes against nature.

If you have to take something off the wheel, the nut pin, it will be easier.
I also use them for balancing connectors (I'll glue them together with hot glue) etc., they are more stable.

Re: What is limiting my BLDC Motor power Output?

530 rpm does 50km/h on a 20 wheel, which I had (SWXH), with 1500W was fine.
If your bike is heavy with you, then the hub 530 rpm suffers.

a programmable control unit was better for this purpose.

My question is: how much percentage of the new cells lose each year? If I buy cells of 21700 5000mAh or 18650 3000mAh, and use them at 1c of continuous discharge. for example: (I don't know how he treated them) one guy said: a 10s4p battery consisting of cells LGDBMG118650, are 2850mAh with 10A disc...
