Re: Speedict neptune lite

shit, I did not take any photos and my Neptune 15 is carefully wrapped into a few Kapton tape layers and well positioned in my battery. but i can say : I have the board version with 8x Nexperia PSMN3R3-80BS mosfets. max current of 100A would be perfect. i dont know how long such a firmware change t...

Re: Speedict neptune lite

Hi Danny, cool idea. using 1 mOhm resistors will result in 4x 0.625 Watts at 4x25 Amps, my solution in 8x 0.625 Watts at 8x 12.5 Amps. your solution is really better - resulting in less heat. all displayed values would be a quarter of the actual values. yep, heat is the real enemy :? anyways handli...

Re: Speedict neptune lite

But you can add 4x R004 SMD 2512 shunt resistors ( one for each mosfet, I simply soldered it over the 4 existing ones and 2 additional - black 14AWG wires for the higher current and 1 additional + red wire outside Neptune. Additionally I added more solder to all 8 drain mosfet pins). This results i...

Re: Speedict neptune lite

Hi there, I just got hands on the neptune 15 and I was wondering if there a way to bypass the max discharge current? 50A is not enough for my setup. Cheers if bypass it, all protections such as over current, cell under voltage will be stopped, and charging won't start. But you can add 4x R004 SMD 2...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

How are your batteries doing? Is Frey using quality cells and chargers? always very nice videos !!!! really nice :D it could be that newer DPC18 displays include a setting for a 52V battery. but normally the DPC18 calculates discharge capacity based on voltage of a 48V battery. fuel gauge and perce...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Yesterday I did 44 miles with my local cycling club on road. At the end of the ride I had 43% battery remaining and a range of 39 miles left. I was only using Eco assist levels for most of the ride, although the last two miles to home I was on Sport Level 5 and hit 45mph on slight downhill run. I k...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Already looked at the SRAM XG1150, but as you said, it's a whole new wheel and 148/12 boost isn't vast in choice and pricey. Also everyone is advising against a 10t cog with an ultra's torque, I'll go with the 48t with 11-40t shimano cassette for now. Also if you use a chain calculator, the 50t jus...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

That'll be a no by a hairs breath. The Wolftooth 50t lightly brushes the frame, only a couple of wide teeth that have muck on them, but the margin is too small, the gap is basically zero, unmeasurable. 48T is going to be max on the Frey HT1000. Already ordered but pricey in the UK. I also took off ...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

ps. interesting: Wolftooth BCD130 chainring is compatible with Shimano HG 12x chain (however Wolftooth says it is not). even the quick link is no problem. i am running this setup for around 200-300km now. one difference: drivetrain is quieter  i also tested the raceface 44t which was not compa...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I have a Frey HT1000 and estimated clearance for a 50t is <1mm from the frame. Is it close on the AM1000 or is the chainstay very different on these models? i have a Frey AM1000 v3. with bashguard clearance with a 50t is also a problem. Frey HT1000 might also have the bashguard !? but: i am prepari...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

When cleaning out the old grease from the Ultra motor did you use a solvent, petrol, paraffin etc to clean the gear wheels? How much new grease is needed to fully pack it out sufficiently? They seem to come in 380g tubes so is one enough or worth getting a couple? I’ve got the AM1000 - is it easy t...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I think I should be able to do it with the bike upside down, unbolt the motor and then just lift it a little out of the mount in order to be able to get the side plate off. It will save taking the motor out completely and disconnecting any cables. Hi Sinbord1981 ! Unfortunately a bad idea. that mig...

Guys I popped the plastic cover off the left-hand-side of my motor to expose the cables and found three unconnected connectors. Any idea what these are? Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Rest looks similar and certainly nothing to justify the lack of throttle without an active speed sensor. Hardware version is 1.5, maybe its been disabled in the firmware??? I assume the throttle is fed 5v and with throttle off it's variable resistor is set to max and as you slide or rotate, the vol...

The throttle should work from standstill I have a recent Frey HT1000 with the Ultra and my throttle doesn't work unless its moving either (don't have to be pedalling, just registering a speed). Checked all the settings using the config application from the PC against my BBS02 settings (apart from t...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Mobilith SHC 100 is better than Mobil 28 and more readily available (Mobil28 is essentially obsolete). It works beautifully in the Ultra motor, and will work anywhere you use lithium-synthetic grease for higher speed applications, excellent in the bearings and gears alike... Will not harm nylon or ...

I have watched the videos and it seems a fair amount of work, possibly needing to drop the motor out t...
