Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hmm, also didn't come with a M8 x 40 bolt to attach the fixing block - that's a bit annoying!

Edit: My mistake - I found the bolt! But it does require some washers to give it a good fit.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

It looks like you have a 73mm bb but ordered the 68mm kit? The 73mm kit includes an extra set of longer bolts and an extra set of spacers, plus the reg size ones too. If you ordered the 73mm kit check your packaging, I only found the longer bolts and extra spacers after having the same exact issue!...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I have quite a large gap between the securing plate and the motor body. See pic: https://i.imgur.com/qhck6WR.jpg I assume I just need to get some longer bolts and a few more washers but wondered if there was anything else I need to worry about here. Has anyone else run into a similar issue? Cheers

I love it when he whacks the wrench with a hammer, that's just how we do it!
I laughed at that too. But... also I was unsure how to get the correct torque when using a weird tool like that bottom bracket tool as you can't use a normal torque wrench - so how do you get the correct torque?

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Instructions - lol. There is a website with a couple pdf's, I think Casainho has them on his website too. One pdf is for install, the other is for the display and how to get into the settings mode. I think I got mine from this website: http://www.cnebikes.com/download.html Awesome, thanks for this!

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The brake sensors just look like a simple push button. Perhaps I could remove the button and add them to my hydraulic levers anyhow.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Haha, neat trick with the throttle clutch, will have to give that a go!

Cheers - I'll try it just with my hydraulics then.

Btw, this is the best installation video I could find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-l0wb299J0

Anyone know of any others? My kit came with zero instructions...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

My engine just arrived! Quick shipping from recycles-ebike.com!

Very exciting!

So my immediate first thought is - what are the brake levers for? Do I have to get rid of my existing brakes (I have hydraulics) or are they supplementary?

Thanks @John and @casainho - I think I'll do as you suggest, see how the stock set-up looks on my bike and then take it from there.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

There has been several complaints already, as the TSDZ2 offers both, a huge Q- factor and the crankarms not centered to the middle of the bike frame. A single crankarm is only $10. Ah ok, and the bafang is the only crankarm that will fit this? Just asking as they're not readily available in my coun...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I recently went from a 42t to a 34t chainring. I hated it... Not only was it worse for the chainline, but it made the gears too close together. The only bonus was it was better at climbing steep hills. I have since switched back to the stock 42t offset chainring and in the future I am going to orde...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

@Speady - Awesome info - thanks! Without knowing anything about your donor bike I recommend: -a single right side Bafang crankarm to fix the huge offset - I was unaware of an offset issue, is this something a lot of people have experienced? -a dedicated e-bike chain like KMC X9e or similar - Yes, I ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Get the metal gear as nylon bkue gear may fail almost immediately. Instal brake sensors. Cool thanks Casainho, have added that to the list. What exactly are the brake sensors? My kit from recycles-ebike.com seems to come with some brake levers - is this what you mean? See kit: http://recycles-ebike...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Does anyone have a list of suggested 'prerequisites' for fitting the TSDZ2? I have a 3 week wait until my motor/battery arrives and would like to have everything else ready so I can hit the floor running (cycling). For example, my own list so far: Donor bike (with bottom bracket removed - required 8...

Ah ok, so the built-in 'unrestricted' mode that comes with the stock firmware is as good as we're going to get realistically?

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The KT LCD3 shows information that original TSDZ2 can't show, like battery voltage, motor usage power, etc. It is also cheaper. Also it is also easy to develop the firmware for it, so it is like a blank sheet of paper that we can program from scratch with our algorithms and showing and have input o...

Have been watching all this with interest and, excuse my ignorance, but what is so good about the LCD you are trying to get to work?

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Tested the capability of my 52v 14Ah (14s4p) battery today with the 52v 750w 'recycles-ebike' TSDZ2... First segment of the battery gauge went at 40km, second at 52km, 3rd at 62km, 4th at 70km, 5th at 75km and 6th flashing at 78km. Just a wee bit of assistance at that stage so I rode another 2km an...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi everyone, Quick question that I hope someone is able to help me with. I live in NZ and it's a PITA to get things shipped here (and when you can you have to pay quite a bit import duty). I've managed to find a decent TSDZ2 kit (48V 500W motor + 48V 14 Ah battery) already in the country for around ...
