Re: Unit Power Pack custom battery ordering questions

why would you need to specify such things for a "professional" battery builder? if you ask for certain discharge/charge specs one would assume they would build the pack to handle those currents with plenty of room to spare... just asking.... Sometimes people have helpful recommendations to ask for....

Unit Power Pack custom battery ordering questions

I will be ordering my first custom battery from Unit Power Pack (UPP) and am wondering if i'm missing anything. I'm looking to order a 72v 20s11p triangle pack (30Q), shrink wrapped with PVC with 50 amp BMS with balance charging, XT90 connector. I've gathered through reading this site that i should ...

Re: Loving the ebike life but wishing for a full suspension bike...

Wow! What a difference! Dropping the bars this much really really makes the bike feel like a motorcycle now! Haha! Unfortunately I really need steer tube spacers and all I have to use is leftover hardware right now... Thankfully it works! The handlebars feel great! It's way more enjoyable to ride a...

Re: Giant Trance X1 build for MAX range

I installed a set of offset bushing from offsetbushings.com today. These lowered my bottom bracket height a small amount and slackened my headtube angle up to a degree and a half. I don't have anything to measure headtube angle that is accurate but i believe i'm sitting right where i want it to be. ...

Re: MANITOU SHERMAN SLIDER PLUS spv 170. opinions?

The fork was $100 so it was in my price point. I am surprised how heavy it is compared to the Bomber for on my other bike. I am happy with the purchase now to start ordering parts. Yes, they are very heavy for a 32mm fork. Crazy to think back in 2004 you could buy a 180mm Sherman, that came with 32...

Re: Giant Trance X1 build for MAX range

I have a 24s11p of GA cells, and I can charge at 18 amps safely without hurting cycle life. The battery box gets a little warm over ambient, but never hot, and you won't need to charge for more than 30 min anyways. Most high end li-ion cells can take a 0.5C charge no problem. Me, personally, I'd go...

Re: MANITOU SHERMAN SLIDER PLUS spv 170. opinions?

I rode a Sherman 150mm on my city mountain bike for a few years. I bought it for $50 and it was next to new when I bought it. This was back on 2014 so it was a dated fork by then. But It was nice and plush. I really liked that It slackened my headtube angle out. My bike original came with an 80mm fo...

Re: Giant Trance X1 build for MAX range

Been gathering ideas for a custom frame bag. I have a few places in mind that could make it for me at a reasonable price. I'd like to do this rope idea with neon green rope. The rest of the bag black, maybe with some dark grey. I'll have some internal velcro straps sewed in and some slits in the fro...

Re: Giant Trance X1 build for MAX range

Well I got the bike fitting well now. I'm really liking the ultra short 30mm stem and long top tube of the XL frame. I never thought i'd like riding an XL frame, but this frame feels roomy, yet my body feels natural and not stretched out. I feel like I'm steering a downhill bike and I have lots of c...

This build is awesome. Subscribed.

I just bought a Shimano Zee 4 piston caliper for my build but am running a 180mm rotor. Nice to know power is very good with a 203 if i need to upgrade! 8)

Question, how is the bike riding at speed with that much weight? Do you get use to it?

You can get a great deal if you know what to look for. Get an older Giant Anthem or Trance or even Reign... also older Trek Remedy or Trek EX. Most years came with large oversize tubing - very strong. Anything Rock Shox, Fox, Marzochi, Manitou will be way stronger and better than RST or Zoom suspens...

Re: Giant Trance X1 build for MAX range

Well I've been trying to figure out what way I want to go with the battery. I can do two 20s6p packs or a single 20s12p pack. The idea with doing 2 packs is I could shed weight when I didn't need the high capacity and I could shorten my charge time by being able to have both packs charging at the sa...

Anyone use Dirt Labs or Mad Suspension for shock tuning?

Looking to get my shock tuned for a 16lb hub motor. I contacted Dirt Labs and they sound confident they can tune the shock to get it performing exactly how I want it. The other tuning expert I'm looking at is Mad Performance. The owner is a former world cup mechanic. Prices for a tune plus rebuild a...

Quick question... what program do you guys use to determine size/shape/cell count/orientation of 18650 cell pack? I have a full suspension frame and need to get creative to pack as many cells in it as i can
