Re: AVIAN featherweight mid drive

I put myself on the list to buy one or two of these esk8 DieBieMS BMS. It looks like it will take a while to get commitment for 50 units to manufacture the next batch. I was very excited about getting those puppies, but all that evaporated by now. So far, they sold in the past about three dozen of t...

Re: AVIAN featherweight mid drive

Can you recommend a BMS for 10S and 60 maybe 90 Amps? As Examples http://www.chargery.com/BMS16.asp https://bmsbattery.com/bmspcm/833-smart-bms-10s13s-60a-with-blue-tooth-android-or-ios-app.html or from the E-skate community https://www.electric-skateboard.builders/t/diy-6s-to-12s-bms-with-can/2639...

Re: AVIAN featherweight mid drive

Unorthodox way of the balancing battery pack. looks like you did connect all groups in parallel. why not :) , but why you don't add a BMS? This is my second pack. My first pack had a BMS, but it was doing bad job balancing the pack so at this point I'm using battery testers. I'm still wired for a B...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Yes, I had exactly the same problem. The part she will send you will take care of it. Everyone here is writing about plastic gears failing, but this wasn't it in my case. The high speed sun gear inner part is made of steel and it is secured to the clutch ring with very fine weld. The weld is the pro...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

anyone could help? I installed 2 speed Xiongda motor on my son's trike. I had one problem with that motor, but because of the first class customer service provided by Bonnie I still recommend that motor. Unfortunately when you buy Chinese product you will, most likely, have some kind of kinks to ir...

Re: Yet another 18650 battery build.

I built my own 18650 battery pack and decided on not using BMS. I have a volt meter, the anti spark connector, two battery testers and a maxi fuse. For BMS I use my brain. It works for me.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I managed to shoot a little video with the AM-1000 last Sunday. My dog insisted to come with me so I am not going very fast but the dog ist actually quite fun to watch and really enjoys it. Do not expect anything fancy. It is just a relaxed ride in the park behind my house. I hope you like it despi...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

When mine broke I noticed on pulling it apart there was only one spring in the clutch the pencil is pointing to it. In the line drawing there is 3. I asked Bonnie about this and she said that one was normal. I'm not an engineer but surely this is something to do with the clutch locking and breaking...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Are you actually serious??? I just posted failure of Xiongda that was used under normal 200 lb. total load and you are asking if this can be used with 400 lb. load? Get a mid drive dude. Something like Cyclone. With all due respect, but your experience is not significant for all of the 2 speed moto...

Has anyone installed this in a 20" (406) wheel? Any idea what top speed would be ? Would it hold up to using in a tandem bike where weight would be 400 pounds or so? Are you actually serious??? Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Update on my install of 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor. The bad news is: After only 39 miles, Xiongda motor's high speed transmission stopped working. The motor powers the bike on the low gear and I can hear changing rotation of the motor, but the high speed gear does not engage. The good news is: Bonnie ...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

@KimCabq My son is disabled and has problem with balance. At first, we tried a standard adult trike from Walmart. That thing was so unstable that even my wife was not able to ride it at 5mph. Shortly after that, I realized that teardrop trike was the only way to go. For me, stability of the bike is ...

Re: AVIAN featherweight mid drive

At this point, the bike is running on 6374 3200W Alien motor and is a real joy to ride. I have an 80 mm 6000w Alien motor that I'm going to use. http://alienpowersystem.com/shop/brushless-motors/aps8072s-sensored-bldc-motor-165kv-6000w/ The problem is that I had the flu and was in bed for 5 weeks, a...

Can you explain why I should not go for that type of reducer ?
No, that's not what I said. To the contrary, I posted the links to these reducers because they are good option for an e-bike.
Why do you need a reducer for 12 mm shaft? Is it to connect a reducer and the 80100 motor directly in series?

Re: Specs Performance for 80-100 motor ?

Hey Ecyclist, I try to find this kind of reducer (PLE, PLF, etc...) for C80100, but I never fund for Ø12 shaft C80100... I'm assuming that you are thinking about connecting a planetary reducer to the 80100 motor in series. You don't want to do that and you don't want to buy that type of reducer bra...

Re: Specs Performance for 80-100 motor ?

My reducer is already strong enough for 80mm motor, but I'm planning on a couple changes to make it better. At this point the ratio is 19:1. I machined it all excluding bearings and pins. I built other one that is 16:1. You can visit my thread for details. Yes, my reducer is based on the same princ...

Re: Specs Performance for 80-100 motor ?

Xiongda 2-speed will fit in standard 135 mm rear dropouts without any modifications. That option has been available for at least a year. That is exactly what I installed on my son's brand new trike. However the max rear gearing is 6-speed freewheel. With three up front, his total is 18 speed. He wil...

Re: Specs Performance for 80-100 motor ?

I just hope that we all build our own stuff. It is more fun and rewarding. Plus, it helps to push an envelope a little farther. Saying all that, if you're only after single speed for flat road, then the hub motor is the way to go. Simple, inexpensive and effective. For roads with some hills, two spe...

Re: Specs Performance for 80-100 motor ?

It's great to see Esc8 forum enthusiasm moving to ES. We definitely need more of that. I'm happy that I'm not the only one who thinks that VESC is a good, soon to be great, option for a LMX. Until now, I've been running my bike on VESC 4.12, but I have ESCape from Stewii coming my way and I'm waitin...

Re: Specs Performance for 80-100 motor ?

I build something of that kind. I used 18650 cells with 10s6p config. , VESC and 6374 outrunner. I'm getting 50 km/h and have no problems. In a couple of weeks I will change motor to 80mm and controller to get up to 60 km/h and a little more respect. I think that the controller is the most imp...
