Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Consider that both Xiongda and Luna provide a different level of service than BMSBattery. Very different. Service and parts on small gearmotors is eventually necessary unless you plan to discard it when it needs parts. Good point on parts. I emailed Luna because I need a 135mm hub. No dice, they on...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

@tomtom50
Q128H by BMSbattery = no freewheeling = no torque = no customer service = not a good choice.
But, hey it's your money.
My 2 cents.

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Alan is right, but I say just follow Xiongda recommendations and you will be OK. They sell millions of these kits in China and they know the best.
BTW: Bonnie is easy to work with and provides top customer service. :thumb:

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Forget about CA3. It will be PITA to use, it is not aesthetically pleasing and you will spend $130 extra. Order directly from Bonnie Xiongda <bonnie@xiongdamotor.com.cn> Buy everything that comes with the kit. Parts are cheap. You can get spokes from Xiongda as well. They are $8 extra. Go for 14G an...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Sorry for the dumb questions but it's a long thread and I couldn't find clear answers. Do I need a particular controller or display to switch gears? I.e., can I use this motor with a cycle analyst and a standard controller? If so, how do you control changing gear? Is it different between the OEM an...

Re: Kepler Bottom Bracket Friction Drive For Sale (Finally)

Yes, 100% regen when both brakes are applied. I used Hall sensors as I wanted it to be completely water proof. I quickly discovered micro switches dont belong on a mountain bike and quickly fail under muddy and rough conditions. The button throttle and brake sensors are connected to a custom progra...

Re: AVIAN featherweight mid drive

Finally, I will be installing bigger 80 mm motor on my build. I tested two different motors with a new more powerful ESCape controller and now I'm in the process of installing hall sensors in these motors. I made 120 deg. mounting boards out of FR4 and I installed sensors in them. I followed the rec...

Re: Kepler Bottom Bracket Friction Drive For Sale (Finally)

Interesting idea. if you only needed a boost to low speed, you could us a low kv motor, so 60 kv and say a high C rated 4S Lipo battery. The motor would climb the tire under load, then drop off the tire once it reach full speed which would be quite low. The motor could easily be pulled on to the ti...

Here is my final product. It is 10S6P with twin charging capability. I can charge it bulk with 42V charger, or I can balance charge it with SKYRC iMAX B6AC hobby charger. I can control amps. with VESC and I monitor cells with small volt meter and two battery testers / loggers. I use XT-90 Anti-Spar...

Re: Professional ESC base on VESC introduction

No, I don't. I'm perfectly happy with my build and my heatsinked VESC 4.12. Do you know that my kit is only 4.63 lb (excluding the battery) it can climb a tree and do 30 mph. I know it is a snail pace on a street, but on a single track that you can barely fit a bike between trees it is plenty fast. ...

Re: Professional ESC base on VESC introduction

theres an antispark switch smart from flipsky that detects motor movement and or throttle input and powers up accordingly, you would have to disable your antispark and just fit this it can then turn on or off multiple escs so a 4wd mobility scooter with hoverboard wheels would have foc, traction co...

Re: Surly Big Fat Dummy with L-R Big Block Mid Drive

Hopefully, single bearing is your only problem. Unfortunately, I have this sinking feeling that the problem is in the way the drive is mounted to the bike's frame. These clamps are pulling the drive to the bike's frame and, most likely, distorting both structures. Custom adjustable clamps would do t...

Re: Surly Big Fat Dummy with L-R Big Block Mid Drive

That broken rubber mount is not making that sound. I wasn't suggesting the mounts themselves were causing the sound. (Hadn't even occurred to me...) I was going with your instructions to look around for some unintended shift or movement... Other possibilities for unconstrained movement are these ty...

Hi Mike, Checking in to see if you have any input? The noise persists: rdI7mB0PpAc I would really like to get this resolved so the drive is safe enough to road test. It looks to me like the noise comes from the chain's small sprocket. Most likely, because two sprockets are not in line. Also, the la...

@district9prawn
It looks like you have a good grasp of what is going on inside of these controllers.
In your professional opinion, is it possible to implement auto shutdown in FSESC6.6 with anti-spark switch?
For me, power down after 30 minutes without throttle would be perfect.

Re: Professional ESC base on VESC introduction

I've been using Maytech VESC 4.12 for my build for a year and I think that VESC is the future. I'm stoked that we have a new choice of VESC offered by FLIPSKY. I built an E-bike and and would love to use FSESC 6.6 as an upgrade. You can see my build here: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic....
