Re: Noise from my 9C Motor

The phase/hall sensor combo can make motors give off funny noises, so that's what I'd expect.

Why would you want to use these cells in a pack?
300 cycles, might as well go with lipo from hobby king.

Re: Qulbix Raptor 140

Interesting, I think I see what they have done. The area in the old raptor under the frame that is around the controller cover is basically wasted space, meaning you don't really need the clearance there as you're going to hit your chain ring anyway as that is by far the lowest point.. Qulbix basic...

Aww, they should have kept the 160mm battery compartment width in my opinion.

Oh well.

66 volt type should work at increased voltages as well, though caps might need to get up rated.

might wanna ask these guys, as a inverter-charger hybrid would be neat.

Re: Qulbix Raptor 140

Just as I was starting to look for a chassis.

only thing that urged me about the raptor I can't fit my 24 cells of 20ah a123 pouches in it, and its too big for me.

Post a picture, and I suggest testing the cells for capacity and voltage drop under load as well.

Re: 6s6p lipo battery safe?

" If I ran the battery with balance leads of each battery parallel, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of balancing each cell individually?"

Yes it would, as cells in parallel don't need to be disconnected and individually charged.

Looks sketchy, no real numbers or anything of the sort.
"100%" recyclable, implying normal li-ion batteries aren't recyclable.

Probably just hot air on a tech that might work in 5 years.

Re: Carry Solar or More Battery for touring?

Pros, freedom of being able to charge anywhere you want really, no dependency to a socket.

Cons, generally heavier, a bit more hassle to set up, and expensive, though you can get really thin, efficient, light panels

just my 0.0119091924 British pounds.

Re: HI-power cycles not responding.

I bought a bike from them. Sometimes email issues can occur. Did you look in the SPAM folder? They always pick up the phone if you call during their hours. I do know they open after 1PM CST. (818) 734-1600. What motor did you buy? I have the Crystalyte 4060. Its worth it to buy. All I see in my spa...

HI-power cycles not responding.

Purchased a motor off their ebay over a month ago, got many delays with the order and when they finally got around to shipping it, I got the tracking from Ebay, which is 3 weeks ago now, still just states "manifest" on the tracking. I sent emails to hipower asking them what was going on with the tra...

Not experienced with that stuff, you should probably get a LiFePo4 battery of some sorts.

Re: Why are LiFePO4 costs still high?

Because the mainstream market doesn't want to use it I think. Even though Lifepo4 has twice the lifetime if not more than Li-ion types Higher discharge and higher charge rates, and can handle things better, and doesn't go bang when you turn your back on them. Wish they used more Lifepo4 though, thin...
