TC65 sounds like what you are looking for, be keep a eye on the temps though.

Bring all the batteries inside during winter, unless you're planning to store them.

Re: Tc80 burnt...

If you want to do hill climbing a temp sensor is a must, setting the t max to 90-100c before it starts to throttle down the power so you don't burn the motor. High amps at high RPM isn't much of a issue, but high amps at low RPM can easily burn your motor if you're not paying attention. Keep in mind...

Re: Large transformer as charger

You're going to need something to control the voltage, as rectifying it will make 105VDC.

67ac*1.57=105vdc

Pi/2=1.57.

Though the transformer likely has isolation, so its safer than directly using power from the wall.

If doing that one should also beef up the rail lines, caps and so on. also thicker wires.

Re: Kingpan KP-669 110V or 220V?

Most SMPSUs work on voltages from 90-240 volts, as they just rectify the ac and store it in caps, then vary the pulse length to get the correct V out.

Trying 220v stuff on 110 shouldn't harm it.

Measure the Ah of every cell,

put out the Ah evenly into each parallel pack.

Re: Renovating a Ping Battery?

You want to charge lifepo4 with CC/CV to 3.6v. Or just slowly trickle charge them up, I would get a Imax b6 or some sort of RC charger, charge it as a NMH battery up to 2.5v or so, then just go full on lifepo4 charging mode. I have recovered Lipo batteries from sitting 2 years at 2.5 volts recovered...

Re: Eddy current melting black tape !!

subscribed i think the drill machine will fall apart if it become unstable again at full speed and the rotor will fly through the room. im glad that didn't happen :) Yes this is very much what would happen, that thing is going several thousand RPMs, dat rev up time. As a machinist I wouldn't stand ...

Re: Can anyone recommend a 72V battery?

Lifepo4 is pretty much a idiot proof chemistry, very stable and good discharge capacity, and long life.

Unless you're going to run uber powered motors ping should do the thing.

Re: Range problem on LifePo4 48V10Ah battery

Lifepo4 has a very flat discharge curve, when at 3.3 it might be at 40% dod or 80% dod.

The 3.2 cell is likely a lot lower than the rest, and I mean a lot.

I'd gladly test them on my 24 fet Lyen, blew one of the fets after shorting the phases by accident
Might as well replace all of them while I am at it.. On a side note, thank god I had the BMS hooked up, 24 20ah a123 cells would make a real mess if they got dead shorted like that

Interested in getting 25 of these.

They could be used as drop in replacements for 4110s right?
