Re: SIKK Fat Bike 49cc/MXUS 3000W Build

Yea, that MXUS will outperform the gas motor any day of the weak, given the right combination of voltage and amps. Might wanna look to offload the gas motor son. It's just gonna be dead weight.. :) O yah it will! The only reason why I'm put the gas engine on there is for unlimited range. ...

SIKK Fat Bike 49cc/MXUS 3000W Build

This is my latest endeavor. A Sikk fat tire bike, 29" steel cruiser frame, 7 speed with disk brakes. Right now it's just a gas bike but soon it will be electric also. Gas engine is 49cc hue shang four stroke coupled with a Skyhawk stage three centrifugal clutch gear box. The power is then transferre...

Cool you always seem to simplify things quite a bit. I got TA's from the Docbass coming, MXUS 3000 and 18 fet Infineon (programed for me) in the works from teslanv. I'm prob most exited about fenders for the moment though. I got douched hard today going 16 miles in cold dec rain. just need to ...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

Is there anybody selling these in the us V2 5 turn? I only read till page 9 or so. My bike is a fat tire 29" OD and I think the 5 turn would suit it better plus the v2 is just better. I found a v1 4 turn on ebay teslanv is selling. Shipped to me would be just under $400. Should I just bite on this o...

Re: Doc's ULTIMATE TORQUE ARMS fit most of the frame UPDATE

just wanted to say I used best jb weld they have and it worked great. I did it right. It took full 24hrs to cure. (used a hair drier) Then I drilled a hole in aluminum frame through one of the holes in the TA the size of one of the holes on the TA and hammered a roll pin flush with inside of drop ou...

Re: Mongoose dolomite fatbike? 7spd, disk brakes, INEXPENSIV

No way no TA eh?... You've never ran this big of a motor either. Very interested in hearing how everything works out for you in the long run. You used the stock rim right? I suppose the washers and bolt don't matter on the brake cause of regen right? Did you have a build thread for your fat bike? I ...

Re: Analysis of regen on an ebike

Right its because with more turns the motor makes more current/inductance in proportion to distance the motor turns. Right? So since the motor coils are actually having to create higher amps in a less turn count motor to produce the same amount of current into the battery. Does that mean that the le...

Re: Mongoose dolomite fatbike? 7spd, disk brakes, INEXPENSIV

Yes wesnewell that thing is mint! :D I'm currently building a fat gas/electric hybrid. Got the gas part done. I have a jackshaft kit for the gas engine and I have to use all my 7 gears on the free wheel. (especially the first one!) I am strongly leaning towards the mxus 3000w! And your saying that y...

Re: Analysis of regen on an ebike

While differently wound motors can perform identically when making torque, when reversing their role to produce regen braking the results are different. This is because the current limit of regen braking is the same between for two of the same model controllers. The end result since current is the ...

Re: Analysis of regen on an ebike

As far as I can figure out, based on the discussion in the Science, Math, and Myth thread, there is no such thing as a "torque" motor vs a "speed" motor, if they are just wound differently but otherwise identical. Really  There must be some other difference between the HT3525 and the HS3540 ...

Re: Analysis of regen on an ebike

Great stuff here. Helped a noob like me understand regen a hole lot better. :D My new takes on regen are that variable regen (if it were possible) only makes drivability better and it wouldn't increase the amount of regen. Also there is no point in less then 6a or more than 12a of regen current, exc...

thank you as always very helpful with the basics.
Since the LVC is switchable on this controller I will tell them 52v and 42v.
Still wondering about the % of throttle thing. What is the max one can go?

Re: Max volts for this controler

okay so after reading a little bit I see that it is a must to use two controllers with two motors and assuming I'm using one battery they would both have to be the same voltage rated controllers. But what about the motor? I haven't seen anything about using a 200 or 250w motor in the front for regen...

so for that 48v controller im getting, could I hook a 200w front hub motor up to it also to provide regen braking? do I need a separate controller to use two hub motors on one bike? Re: Max volts for this controler

Cool on another note the other controller came in and I cracked it open and its the 72V one. I was looking at the caps and mosfets, and the caps all say 100V except for one of the smaller ones is 63V and all the tinny ones are less. Does this mean I can go 100V max on this controller? Also the fets ...
