Re: Help with Capacitive Spot welder

I know!
Heck I mean heck!
I'm trying to get all this stuff done before concrete season starts again because I'll be too tired to do big time consuming projects then, and I'll just want to ride!

Re: SIKK Fat Bike 49cc/MXUS 3000W Build

On another note I got my 3 - 1 farad 25v computer grade capacitors in the mail today for my 600w capacitive discharge spot welder I'm building to make batteries out of those used laptop cells. Here is a link to the thread where I'm talking about this. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: SIKK Fat Bike 49cc/MXUS 3000W Build

I have all the faith in the world it the epoxy. What's that nasty taste in my mouth? O must be my foot! I had a bit of time to work on the bike yesterday before I had to go do snow removal and the double kick stand arrived. So I put that on, then removed the little bars I had for the rack m...

(we can't all make the $$$ American make) You should put where you live so people know how to source for you. How's it going with your tester? Did you read Drk's thread it really has everything you need to know to make a battery out of used sells in it. It was the first thread I read. I read it las...

Re: Mongoose dolomite fatbike? 7spd, disk brakes, INEXPENSIV

Thanks for the links to the cheap suspension forks btw. The solid ones are better for winter biking though. I've thought about putting a monark fork on this in the summer. http://www.bikeberry.com/bicycles/accessories/fenders-forks/monark-type-2-dual-springer-motorized-bicycle-fork.html And a thud b...

Re: SIKK Fat Bike 49cc/MXUS 3000W Build

The bags I had on there don't fit the lipo I already got very well because they are not wide enough. I popped into harbor freight the other day cause I was in the neighbor hood and picked up some cases for $10 each. When I drilled into the first one I realized they were made from Masonite. I was afr...

Re: improving MXUS 3000 V2

Nice! before. makes soldering more easy ;) it looks like this shop does not offer 11GA, and 10GA might be to big for the axle hole. I hope 10 AWG will work cause that's what is coming. After testing the 3T MXUS, I can honestly say, you will have no desire for a gas engine. These MXUS motors have ple...

Re: SIKK Fat Bike 49cc/MXUS 3000W Build

More fun with the bike today... Finally got time to work on it. So I got every thing figured out. I ground down one of the washers to fit inside the free wheel. Then used a brass sleeve I found at the hardware store to go inside the free wheel and over the axle. I had to cut it to fit. Works great! ...

Nice work! I'm having a hard time finding that wire in the US. Even looking at 10 AWG PTFE too. This is all I could find in low quantity. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-37-0-4-10AWG-PTFE-teflon-silver-plated-copper-wire-speaker-wiring/171102498306?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001...

Re: SIKK Fat Bike 49cc/MXUS 3000W Build

Some up dates on the bike. I got some galvanized bands with rubber on them for mounting the rack to the seat stay. Some industrial ones the neighbor stole from work. (gotta love neighbors like that) Got the free wheel spacer but with the 7 speed there wasn't room left for the doc's TA. Then I notice...

Re: Help with Capacitive Spot welder

well there was one more on there.
The guy must just be selling one at a time?
So now I have two coming. I'll keep looking but I'm thinking 400w will do it.
I should probably get some nickel strips coming eh?

Re: Help with Capacitive Spot welder

fritz had emailed me back with a link to caps that were 1f 25vdc and under $100. So I quick canceled my order then when I tried to order from his link there was only one left. But I just found two more for a little over $100 a piece so I ordered those. I got the fan and speaker and 4 awg cables with...

Re: Help with Capacitive Spot welder

Okay I emailed him and he told me it was the V2.1. He told me to get the $87 500VA 25+25 transformer from his amazon store. And he suggested that I get computer grade capacitors. He said there expensive but worth it. The only 1 farad computer cap I found so far were $200 bucks! http://www.electronic...

Re: Using a lightweight generator to charge Bosch e-bike bat

I still think that for him, carrying 20 pounds more battery will benefit him more than 30 pounds of generator. He should be able to find a plug often enough. Just carry a fast charger. Yes this is the rout I will be going now too because I found out that up 50cc on a bicycle is NOT considered a gas...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

For any winding, the smaller the wheel the better, if it suits your target speed. For me, that is a 3T winding, 17" Moto rim with a 21.5" O.D. tire and 120+ phase amps. With a 20S battery, my target speed is 50 MPH. If I can't get 50 MPH with 20S, I have a 4115 controller that can take 150V max. :t...

Re: Help with Capacitive Spot welder

http://astore.amazon.com/capacitowelde-20 This is what Fritz recommends for the spotwelder. This is what he recommend for my welder? or his welder? My diagram sais 24volt and these are 25 volt. I don't know if the 1 volt matters. You need to know if your going to run 2.1 or 2.5. 2.1 runs at 20 volt...
