Re: Help with 4S (x2) Charger option

I was where you were at; so do not be cheap on charging method(s). I just found that adj. Vout 13.8v~18v DC HK 540W on my own, at 30A its decent for bulk charging. Its very quick. Plus for me there Im only using 500W total. Plus if you buy the iCharger 208B you get a double packed "Whammy" (a good t...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

I just realized I got the speed motor, 16x4T 448rpm 8.93kv. What will the changes be in me going to a smaller diameter wheel, like a 22" or 24" as far as the speed decreasing and my torque increasing. How much will my speed decrease, and how much will my torque increase? I seriously dont like going ...

Re: What bike and kit should I buy

You could also go with yescomusa.com or leafbike.com or ebikes.ca or em3ev or the low brow bsmbattery.com - for your motor, controller and battery purchases. Go direct drive motor for the silence and a bottle battery for stealth and weight management (keeping the battery weight close to the crank), ...

Re: Smoked Motor on the "Strong" ebike from department stor

Yeah the commutator doesnt look to well does it. I will make sure contact surface is cleaned well. So I soldered the wires back on. I looked around for some brushes, it looks like what I have doesnt necessarly have what one normally thinks of brushes. Amazingly sears.com sells a bunch. http://www.se...

Re: Smoked Motor on the "Strong" ebike from department stor

Took the other 2 screws off, nothing much behind it really. Everything in the picture shows what needs to be viewed. But here are some other pictures I snapped on my phone. 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg 6.jpg 7.jpg No "Brushes", more like rods. Unless the brushes got burnt off, which is likely...if ...

Smoked Motor on the "Strong" ebike from department store

I was going to place this in my original thread, then decided its better suited on its own. Luckily I saved all my pics to desktop. Plus copied the text. I heated this puppy up, after a 30km ride. It wasnt really smoking, just very hot motor. It took awhile for my first openening of any hub. I took ...

True true, its a CA issue.
Ran outta juice, going uphill to home, many thoughts running through my head.

True true, like a true man I never read no manual.

True, True....but is that normal?

I mean really I am going leave it is as of now (disconnected) and do a ride down hill and back up, @ 2% or 2.5% grade and see.
I know exactly how my cheap a$$ geared unit does. I will get back to you in a little bit.

Re: Half Speed Problem on the MXUS 4506 V2, 18FET Lyen 84V 1

Bro, I took the CA connection off in front of the bar. For securinty reasons, didnt want no bright lights calling the crack heads in. Always had it in sight. Left the CA off when I rode home. Throttled it up, towards home. Been doing well over 25km/h. No changes at all to the setup. Had the wind in ...

Half Speed Problem on the MXUS 4506 V2, 18FET Lyen 84V 15Ah

I got everything hooked up just right. So I hope. No noises coming from the brushless direct drive mxus 4506 v2 motor. Conneceted up and extended some proper hall connectors (4mm bullets to some thicker guage wire ~14-16awg) to the Lyen 18fet controller. Soldered it all, electrical tape it too. Sold...

Auto-On and Auto-Start Charger

I have been looking and I dont think there a Lipo Charger out there that will turn on automatically, and auto start the charging process, without someone pressing the start button? I have done a few searches now and come up with this. This site here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23...

Re: imax b6ac charger - really slow?

I got the Imax B8plus model, its 7A and 150W, single channel though. I can charge from storage voltage 3.85V to 4.15V in about an hour, at 1C, or 5A, on my 5Ah 4S batteries. Its still quite slow for my liking, so I am pondering a 4 channel or 2 channel. All the 4 channels seem to be 50W per channel,...

Re: Passing people on trails who quiver in fear

motorcycle stereo system that ties into my iPhone library I have been pondering tunes on the bike, all I can think of is hooking up those little portable speakers to my cell phone, or mp3 player. Then if you look at SiriusXM, they run off 12V vehicle power, but how much Amp-Hours would that deck bu...

Re: What kind of ebike is this?

I was able to put into the battery case, 12 4S (14.8V, 5Ah)) lipo batterys (however with the cabling its a very tight squeeze), I can use the case exactly like stock. I now have to figure out a way to charge all 12 batteries without taking the case apart. The old batteries turns out were 36V and 12A...

Re: Steering Lock Mechanisms

I would look at what other businesses do, and what they use. What first comes to mind are those soda machines. Boxed in heavy duty lock. So you could do something where the box is on the frame where the fork goes. Laundromats use circular keys on their coin machines, but those are emptied every nigh...

Re: Google Maps - Elevation and Slope of a route

This is just another option. Maybe for pre-planning a course or whatever to see what slopes are. For me, I just like using Google Maps, using their "Street View" option, being able to stick flags or weigh points on the map with a description. Looking at different pictures people took. There used to ...

Google Maps - Elevation and Slope of a route

I was trying to figure out my elevation gain on a 2km stretch of road. I knew in Google Maps you could do it with vehicle routing on roadways, but I just did it with Bicycle, going through parks and bike paths, not just the road. Click on "Directions" in the upper left. Type in Starting Point and En...

Nice thing too its got the ebrakes on both levers, plus if I want to scare people I got a very loud buzzer horn. The motor itself has quite a noise level to it, but I have nothing to compare it too, under load. OK Thanks for the correction guys on Torque vs Pedal Sensor. I did find though for some r...

Its a 250W Controller, bike has the torque sensor.
Nice ride though for my first cruise ever on an ebike. Not bad for 330lb dude on a heavy bike, with added Lipos to the lead acids.

Yeah if I could release the lead acids there would be no issues. I just googled mixing the batteries, just needs to be around the same float charge. http://www.battcon.com/PapersFinal2005/NgPaper2005.pdf But with the lead acid batteries limping like they are, I dont think it will hurt anything. Re: What kind of ebike is this?

I bought it for $200, I just bypassed the key now, it was pretty easy by looking at the connection side of the tumbler. I took some lock pliers and twisted the plastic iginition, and shoved a flathead into the side and twisted it off. The motor turns smooth, tons of voltage drop from running wheel i...
