Re: Pre charge resistor Wattage

What are you suppose to do with the ignition wire on the controllers? What kind of fuse is good to use on the power cables? Is a 330ohm 10% wirewound good to go for 72V 65A, or should I go lower for "quicker" what-ya-maCall-its (controller cap charge?) I normally plug in, and triple check everything...

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

A problem I have seen it the thermistor is bundled with the hall sensors which is not correct for use with CA v3 it needs to be terminated with a 2 pin male JST-SM connector for plug and play compatibility. Good to know, I was just thinking about how I connect temp wire to my CA3-DP. Who sells this...

Re: Big spark when connecting battery to bike

yet I doubt even 1 in 10 include a proper fuse in their system and that IS something to be afraid of, especially with so many of us running quite lethal voltages. Whats a proper fuse for 72V 65A setup? I assume you are talking about the "Ignition" wire below? Probably why they have an "Ignition" wi...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

OK I've been playing around with the simulator, 3T compared to 6T. I see how the torque line can match, upping the controller amps and changing the diameter of the wheel. That makes a lot of sense now. However I have a fixed controller, and a fixed motor (fixed = factors you cant change), and the on...

Well that explains why they are so cheap then.

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

@korpin Based upon ebikes.ca sim testing (using average values of 4T and 6T) and user reviews I think you should be fine at that peak power. Upgrading phases to ~6" outside of axle should alleviate potential concerns, but your phase amp info from other thread is within limits. From Teslanv post a f...

Re: Batteries in Series

Massive brain fart going on here. P=IV & V=IR Ah is just some rating a battery has, I guess you could calculate it, measuring whats needed. But yes I understand Ah in series stays at whatever the single battery Ah is. V is added. So my formula's are off, I am misplacing Ah. Stick with V, A, C. Still...

Batteries in Series

I think I solved my own problem. Add Voltage in Series, and add Ah in Parallel. But you add Amps in series as well BECAUSE its commulative!!! Fact!!! Once you add up the batteries in series you get a certain sum of voltage and a sum of amps. V x A = Ah Each battery has a Ah rating, while the output ...

Those fans, push air sideways?
Very interesting indeed.
Balance is probably a non-issue.

It would be cool to do "controlled" test runs without fans installed, then with fans installed.
See what the temp diff is

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

The bottom one looks like a CA plug. Need to find the throttle cable too, it should be three wires. I changed the connectors and now I'm on the tricky part. From the picture it seems that one of these is the on off switch: http://i534.photobucket.com/albums/ee343/barenthoffman/MXUS%20Sino%20Controll...

Ah yes, ok that makes more sense now. That magnet wire has no traditional insulation like regular wire, just thin coating which must be baked on or something. What grade or class of magnet wire do you use? So you dont suggest to paint the Aluminum stator, makes sense to me with the cooling idea, wha...
