Re: la Nina rears her ugly head

Calgary, Alberta
Yesterday forecast said +12C for Saturday (today)
Today being today, the weather temp has not risen above -2C.

I think The Weather Channel has gotten infected. It states tomorrow will be +12C with cloud and sunny breaks. I was really hoping to go out ebiking and fishing today.

Re: Calling All Linux Users(who want to help a newb)

No plans to switch to Linux quite yet, but if I were to, I would need to use a sandbox/vm to play Steam games. One of the videos I watched mentioned that Steam is now on Ubuntu and Mint. I'm not a gamer, so I didn't look into it more, but I think you'd be good to go. Unless I'm not fully understand...

Re: Calling All Linux Users(who want to help a newb)

I am using Windows 10, not activated, and I am getting a message coming up on the GUI toolbar. Something about, "Needs Attention" I just had it up, but when I hit the down arrow it closed it not to come up again. Its kinda of annoying at times but for a split instance. No plans to switch to Linux qu...

Pretty much the plan for the moment. Still shaving though. Got a small collection of double edge razors and shavette or two, might as well use them.
Save them for shiv's just in case society goes medieval. Can use the blades for a shank.

Couple tanks of o2 from the welding supply store, a regulator or two, some tubing, full face shield, probably some shoe goo. Few hundred?

Re: Is this a QS 205 motor?

Who knows if its genuine or not. The only certainty is buying from QS itself, even then QS is probably just a generic motor, sourced from a generic supplier who is accommodating in spitting out wind counts, drop shipping or whatever else QS wants.

We ordered a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq (38 kWh battery, 350 km town range and ~270 km highway).
Was supposed to arrive next week but thanks to a certain pandemic it will be more like late May :(

Re: Calling All Linux Users(who want to help a newb)

Look at XUbuntu, I have tried that years ago, and it is good. Take a peek at Mint, I heard great things about that distro. Mint, Ubuntu, and Elementary are the main three I've been reading about. I'll definitely have to look into the studio thing. I hadn't seen that before. Thanks! A search of "The...

I would not hesitate other than making sure your getting what you really want in frame features, fit and geometry. Thats the biggest problem with buying bicycles online, and where your LBS comes in handy. There maybe some good sales on at your local bicycle store (LBS), but how good who knows, I be...

You could just buy a used, brand name bicycle, instead of some generic china brand bicycle. Save you money to go towards getting a better battery or a little bigger motor.

I think I'm going to see if I can get in touch with my barber and send him a 50 if he'll take it. Been going there for well over a decade, bring my son there too. Would like to see him remain in business despite this situation and that's about what I would have spent for a pair of cuts with tip. I'...

No battery is safer then another. LiPo needs careful attention just as much as LiFePO4 or any other Lithium Ion. Problem with LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron) is that is heavier and bulkier then LiPo and Lithium Ion. I guess you could say the LiFePO4 is more forgiving then LiPo. You have to be careful with an...

Yeah, its probably proprietary which means you have to buy Surface's battery. They got you by the balls and you gotta pay up. There maybe some simple hacks that might be found online or Endless Sphere somewhere. Its probably a very simple hack. Do some interweb searching and ES searching and see wha...

Nah. Not wanting a store brought ebike. A kit is sufficient. Or at-least an outlet that will let me pick and choose the components without having a birds-nest for wiring. Well if you buy a sensorless controller then that will have 3 phase wires, plus a throttle with 3. You also want matching ...

Em3EV has/had some good triangle bags. If I saw any damage to the bag, I would have added fabric and strips to beef it all up. The last year or two now, I have been going into Fabricland, the first time I felt like a dork. There would be the usual old women, but one time there was an outright fruit ...

HKSunwin on ebay might have some cheap SENSORED controllers.
