Re: A2B Octive/Metro purchase?

^ Best not to buy any A2B at all IMHO
Not worth the hassle.
Not worth the potential down time in trying to find a part, and get it shipped. Especially if you ride frequently, or commute.

Re: Hunting/mountain E-Bikes

I'm still having a hard time figuring out if the 510 motor is 750 or 1000 watts? Or are there two versions? Or just a programming thing? Any help Most likely just the same motor. Internet sellers love to play with numbers so they can sell to Canada with its 750W bs law and say another country with ...

Re: Need to source another full susp.

A used brand name bicycle (Trek/Specialized/Kona/RockyMountain etc) is better then bso's from department stores.
But you gotta ride what you can afford or have already.

You can grab an old Trek that would work. They're everywhere!

I've used abandoned bicycles in the past.

Can find creative ways for battery placement.

Re: Has anyone here tried mounting a 23" motorcycle tire on a 27.5 bicycle rim (or 22" mc tire on 26 bike rim)?

Yeah but IF you could find a 22" mc rim and IF you could find that mc tire to fit it then you'd have a 26" dia wheel to lace into a rear hub. And use a 26" bicycle front wheel and have a level bicycle. I wouldn't paint myself into a corner like that. Say your traveling and you require a new tire or ...

Re: Juicing Up Pictures

Something is up with my battery. I should be getting atleast double the range for 36Vx27Ah=927Wh/25Wh/km= 39km but I get half. Perhaps the cold weather damaged it. Perhaps the 8A charge rate is too much for 18Vx27Ah half pack. Controller is 36V 35A Batteries are Ryobi 9+6+6+6Ah times two (put in ser...

Re: Has anyone here tried mounting a 23" motorcycle tire on a 27.5 bicycle rim?

Gotta try to find it for sale, new old stock. Yeah you are right, 22" motorcycle/moped tires are close enough to 26" bicycle. http://www.myronsmopeds.com/category/parts/tires/ Sheldons link in quote - https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tyre-sizing.html Some vintage motorized bicycles had 22 inch rims , th...

Re: Heckler test ride ?

I did the looks. Nice and clean controller action. At first I thought that black box may of been some alum heat fins for controller heat shedding, but it looks to have wires coming out of it, same as silver box. Or vice versa. The nice thing about that placement is the legs moving confuse the untrai...

Boring, except as a project for university students. Very few here, are after a record. Even those of us building fast bikes, are more concerned about building the next one better, than faster. I wouldn’t want my name on any record, personnally. What about a cash prize? Incentive enough but then th...

Re: Crank motor - Cyclone Coaxial

Call me poorly coherent but, the fact of always seeing the Cyclones in the city context, in the videos, and knowing that the Vector Typhoon is an URT, leads me to exclude the two options. Maybe I should open a separate discussion, to ask the community if they know something that (weight aside) can ...

Your throttle might be bad. https://www.ebikes.ca/learn/troubleshooting.html?SID=f049caeb0058f37b4c824081f8df98c3 Check wires coming out of motor. No it’s fine, I left the assist cut off at 25 km/h, that’s enough for me. And I don’t use a throttle, so if I don’t pedal then the bicycle doesn’t move.
Yeah but pedaling with no force applied will give it power too. Could be very illegal, who knows.

Well sure, way easy with wire that small. Not so easy with 10g wire on a hobby king pack. That's why I went to those crimp sleeves. Not automotive butt connectors, the crimp sleeves for house wiring.

There are some places that will sell you a sticker of the wattage you want and even holographic. Then find something to coat the sticker so it stays on. Next step above and beyond that is to get a professional looking metal engraved wattage markings. Aside from those two things, just ride normal bic...
