Re: ebay seller aaccessories - C$239.90 w/ free s/h for 1kw Front Fat Kit

Miro - It was the last one I burnt the windings on. It was a fat hub motor but also in a 20" rim, I put it on the fat Costco fat bike which will end up getting the Cyclone 4000W mid drive I already have, when I get off my lazy ass and order a new crank for it. Lots of time on my hands these days, I ...

Re: ebay seller aaccessories - C$239.90 w/ free s/h for 1kw Front Fat Kit

I know last year they stopped selling their hub motor kits, I was lucking to snag a fat front hub for cheap, but then had to lace it in a rim, which still came out at a reasonable price. Now when I go and look at aaccessories ebay store, they are not around anymore. I am 99.9% sure I got the spellin...

I wonder how much it would cost, per tire, to get a custom run of tire. Problem is everyone would want a different tread design and the cost would be too high to justify.

You need to get the specification sheet from the manufacturer, also there are plenty of people out there testing 18650's. Lyte something or other is a website. Lemme see what pops up with serch term "lyte 18650 test" Boom there we go, https://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Common18650Summary%20U...

Re: Trying to understand how many amps/watts a motor can actually take.

If you are concerned about not having enough motor power, then its wise to buy more motor then you need. This is not considering the controller at the moment. You can play around with these tools. Motor simulator is good if the motor is listed, if not then to get an idea is to go ahead and use the T...

i don't why but I just got a kick out of you cutting the rubber whiskers off the tires. I have to ask, why? better traction on pavement? Oh "cutting" you say quite odd indeed I do like to pick at them, its just a thing I do. I dont pick them all, its just something I've always done. If I am sitting...

Re: Efficiency test Geared vs Direct Drive Hub motors

The lightest smallest one. The HD. Not the heavier one. Working fine. The option was a HD or UHD 2.1"-2.5" tube, or a 2.5"-3"... I use the 2.1"-2.5" lightweight duty tube. Cheapest and still has a threaded strong MC stem. Now I've yanked it.. hard.... so hard I bet a normal bicycle tire would have ...

Re: What could I do in the predicament?

XT90's are easy to solder, but the key is to use the extra piece to cover the solder joints. I like to use heat shrink and I can't use the extra solder joint piece most times because I use too much solder, so I triple up on heat shrink. Sometimes there isnt enough room to use heatshrink so then you ...

Re: EXESS HP-E180 Bafang Ultra Max Enduro bike

Frankly, if I'm spending $8500 on a bike I'd probably just go and finance a Zero. You're right though, bicycle pricea are absolutely egregious, and that's not even considering the powered models. I could afford it outright, I just don't see the value. Why an electric motorcycle, when a gas motorcyc...

If you gave a chimpanzee half the asking price I bet they could cobble together something faster and with better range.
Why buy a Lambo with an 80HP engine.

Sure them $8K ebikes look like the shits giggles, but wimpy power is chump. People with money dont care.

Re: EXESS HP-E180 Bafang Ultra Max Enduro bike

I guess if Garmin can sell $800 pedals then no price is necessarily unreasonable. 8 grand for a 750w bike or 9k for 3kw still seems steep to me, but perhaps I'm just cheap. Its stupid crazy pricing, but those with lots of money and money to burn then so be it. I'd buy myself a nice bicycle to build...

I was thinking of something heavier, but you would probably be able to scare tour kids  Anyway, for the non believers I connected the controller and got some statistics: WOOT ! 24kW is a lot of power for that motor. What type of riding do you do ? Is there much hill-climbing ? Question is for...
