Re: Juicing Up Pictures

Do you carry around a Continuity Tester? I carry one around all the time, you'd be amazed at how many Live/Neutral have loose connections or missing a ground when you plug in the cord. Clipboard02.jpg I had to step back to get the bike and sign all in the frame while taking the pic and that's as far...

Re: Repairs Upgrades and more

I always forget to install the extra piece that comes with the XT90 connector. Besides, it usually melts as I try to keep jacket as close to the termination cups of the xt90 as possible.

edit: That mastic epoxy hardens up well. We'll see how durable it is over time.

Re: Repairs Upgrades and more

Oh this is a good one. I was charging up and noticed some sparkles. The XT90 connector had some gnd frays that were touching +pos side. Lucking the charger still works. This was last weeks repair at a grocery store sitting area. Had to buy some duct tape from them but thats ok. Its been like that fo...

Re: Juicing Up Pictures

This particular mini mall, in a new community, had ZERO outside outlets, NONE! I remembered this outlet because last time I needed juice real bad, about a year ago. I scoped the mini mall out doing several circlings (sp?), back then I noticed the outlet inside a locked door at 8pm. What you see is t...

Re: Juicing Up Pictures

I dont normally go looking at Crappy Tire for bicycle stuff, only in a pinch and I got a flat and its nearby. I cant tell you how many times I have purchased a flat head screw driver, a pump and an inner tube and/or a tire then returned the air pump and flat head screw driver (use it as a lever) I w...

Re: Repairs Upgrades and more

When I was guerilla charging up today, I surfed ebay on my phone and saw a great deal, when I got home I purchased a charger for a reasonably cheap price. It's a Dell the model numbers DA330PM111 ADP-330AB and its 330W so 16.9A @ 20V and takes 4.4A from the outlet. So having two, will take 8.8A from...

Re: Troubleshooting hub motor

Thats why its best to always have spares.
Buy two sensorless controllers from Greentime and call her a day.

Meanwhile open up the controller and sniff it  then look for any black marks.
Then crack open the motors cover plates, do another sniff test and eyeball the mofo.

Re: Juicing Up Pictures

Chinese restaurants been there a long time, and lots of take out orders during supper time but I was not impressed at all. I sat at a corner table, the outlet was around the corner 8 ft. Basically at my back. This was the episode where I rode on the flat rear fat tire rim for 18km or so with minimal...

The community (Bridgeland) is an odd mix of crack heads and tree hugging/save the whales yuppies.

Get rid of any pcb boards attached to the battery, that will be the only way to use that battery.

Re: E-Trike conversion & ride Video. 100% solar charged.

Whats the advertised efficiency rate of the $75 100W solar panels?
Be interesting to see the true eff. rate.

I would look into flexible solar panels myself, nice and compact for regular camping or e-bike camping.

I would look at the specifications for each mosfet, and determine if the specs match, if not then how out of wack is it, and for what spec.

Re: Specialized Levo vs BBSHD

That goes on the positive aspect of buying a $5k+ ebike. - Great handling characteristics - Great weight distribution - Balanced Good All for multiple thousands of dollars. What makes me wonder about, if something breaks on the ebike, who actually fixes it. The local bicycle store mechanic or do the...

Re: Type of wire for phase wires

Look into the Teflon PTFE wire, its durable but not as flexible. If I were rewiring the phase wires from the windings outward I would use that.

For your case study, any ole wire will do from Hobby Kings flavor to large big gauge speaker wire, 12g 10g etc

Re: ebike build questions (BBS02)

Where I am is the same as Sweden, winter wise and the front brake action on snow and ice is a delicate application. I am currently on rear brake only, and its holding up fine this winter. I plan on installing front brake soon, problem is the fat hub axle flats are a bit wider then the forks dropout....

Re: Another Stealth bomber (clone) build

You can get adapters to make taper fork tube fit on your bicycles headtube. It changes the dynamics of the fork, making the front a tad taller.
