Re: Show me your front light(s)

Next light up in their range is up to 60v, 150 lux, and with beam cutoff but expensive (although with deals can find down to €90 sometimes): https://www.bumm.de/en/products/e-bike-beleuchtung/parent/164/produkt/164r60ts7-01.html? <Sigh> and that one is essentially a spot light. Oh well, thanks for ...

Re: Show me your front light(s)

Can anyone link a good light that will work well on 48-54 volts, has a high and low beam, and a handlebar-mount switch for both power and beam? 8v to 48V , high low switch , 80 / 120 LUX , 25 K/ph ? https://www.bumm.de/en/products/e-bike-beleuchtung/parent/168/produkt/168ru65-01.html? Re: Nissan Leaf battery replacement (Australia)

So we really need batteries that are more temperature independent rather than trying to temperature manage batteries 100% of the time. Nissan may be ahead of their time, but eventually all electric car batteries need to get there. Heh! Nissan producing batteries that they are willing to cook, and t...

In that price range I'd get a Ping Pack, instead. I have two of them still going strong, one from 2014 before Ping was bought up, and one from 2015, after but still supervised by Mr. Ping.

Re: Bicycle Speakers

I use a single Bluetooth speaker on a silicone band attached to the right bar. With the volume moderate it doesn't mask road sounds. The Amazon Basics BT speaker is big and has a good sound. I use a $10 CVS BT speaker on my folder, and it's ok but the sound is only good if I use my EQ app with it.

Re: What is your favorite 500W-3000W Direct Drive Hub Motor?

I'm looking to convert my increasingly loud Magnum Metro with "Das Kit" geared hubmotor to a 750-1000 watt DD motor, while retaining the stock 48 volt battery. Aside from lacking a clock, the display that comes with the bike seems fine, so I'd be willing to keep it. I need a DD motor with more hill-...

I ran XP as long as I safely could. Windows 10 is a f#$king nightmare, and this is the LAST time I run Microsoft ANYTHING. Ever.
My opinion remains unchanged. I'll go to some flavor of Linux next.

Re: Manufacturers and dealers to avoid

The motor is actually stamped "Das Kit" so I don't know if it is a rebadged Bafang or not. All I know at this point is that Magnum (which I suspect is just an office in someone's house somewhere) is ignoring me after I posted the recording they asked for, won't even give me info to work on the bike ...

Re: Manufacturers and dealers to avoid

Here's a "manufacturer" (dealer of Chinese bikes) to avoid: Magnumbikes.com. I bought a Metro step-thru from one of their California dealers last Summer, and had it shipped to me, as there were no bikes in stock in the East. (I'll be doing a one year review of the bike soon.) This was my first geare...

Re: Rear hub or Mid-drive (should I just flip a coin?)

The geared hub drive on my Magnum Metro handles hills just fine, but after just a year and 1600 miles it sounds terrible and is getting louder. And the "manufacturer" of course, stopped responding to my emails after I sent them a link to a recording of it. Get the mid drive.

Re: Best way of charging the battery

The best time to fully charge and equalize a lithium pack is before you ride, not after. Lithium batteries don't like sitting at 100% charge, so it's best to get them there right before you use the pack. There shouldn't be a need to EQ after every ride, so your best bet is to store the pack at 60-75...

Re: I need info about Arrow E Bikes Please!!!

I can't point you to a specific seller other than Ping Batteries, but LiFePo4 is a safer, more stable chemistry than other LiPo batteries. It has a lower energy density, but I still have 20AH Ping packs that aren't too big for my bicycles.

Re: The 2 types of type 2 diabetes explained and how to reverse - page 3 and scientific studies prove it!

I tried the lozenges and a dozen other types of B12 supplements and they all failed. Injections get expensive and shooting up every day is not very practical. Otherwise you go through those peaks and lulls. Fecal transplants? yikes indeed. A little 1oz nugget of liver does the job for me. Look at t...

Re: Is it realistic to expect using y DIY ebike all year round in Switzerland?

It's easy to seal a pack from the elements. It's a bit harder to do it with a motor, so you'll need the most water-resistant mid-drive available. Given those will be on the bike I wouldn't expect any big problems with water/salt incursion. Remember to size the pack 50% larger (at least) than you wil...

I believe I would try sub-lingual (under the tongue lozenges) B-12 before a fecal transplant... There are also the injections.

Re: Is it realistic to expect using y DIY ebike all year round in Switzerland?

What are the lowest temperatures you expect to encounter? Batteries don't do well far below freezing. I also suggest you design the pack to be stored and charged indoors. That means easy on and easy off the bike.

Re: E-Zip Trailz 24V low power

I don't have a voltmeter...yet. Actually, you probably do - on the bike. The three charge state indicator lights on the throttle, if present, are just a three light voltage gauge. Watching their behavior will tell you how much the voltage is sagging. If whacking the throttle open doesn't change the...

EARLY STAGE ( much from personal experience, and the rest from reading and videos) Fat is the cause, plain and simple. Too much fat in the food. Too much fat in the blood stream. Too much in places where it does not belong, like muscle cells and in the liver or around other internal organs. This fa...

Re: Converting B'twin Bike to Electric

So how does using 18650 battery packs work exactly? For a 72 volt battery pack that would require 17 or 18 batteries in series. To get the current requirement I would need extra batteries in parallel with each battery in series. How would that work? I'm NOT a pack builder, but even a casual e-bike ...
