Problems with Controller/motor

I have a 36V500W hubmotor and a 750W36V controller Turnigy Lipo packs@37V rated at 20C. with no BMS The issue is when I accelerate past 15km/h and release the throttle I cannot accelerate further until the wheel slows down to those 15km/h What gives? I emailed conhismotor.com about this and they whe...

Re: 500W motor runs better with 800W controller?

I have 10s and don't have any plans on upgrading the voltage, I don't need more speed, but torque is always a welcome. Right now I have a brushed 800W motor, chain drive with a 800W Controller for it. Just a bit worried that if I switch to this brushless 500W hub motor with 500W controller I will no...

500W motor runs better with 800W controller?

Hello, I am about to buy a brushless hub motor rated for 36V500W and the seller recommended a 800W controller for that. Problem is that the controller will not fit in to my chassis, but a 500W will. What is the real difference here, will the motor be slower, less powerful with 500W controller and in...

Re: Best eBay 36V 20AH LiPo Pack?

No BMS in the LiPos You can buy something like this to have a 37V20Ah pack the Hyperion charger 1420i from US and the rest is from HobbyKing: 1x540w 100~120v Power Supply (13.8v~18v - 30amp) = $67 1x #TR-Wattmeter/10080 Turnigy 130A Watt Meter and Power Analyzer = $23.95 4x #N5000.10S.25/14609 Turni...

My Hyperion 1420 always balance the packs within 0.02V
So in the end my nano-techs 10s looks like this on the display

4.183
4.183
4.181
4.182
But I don't know how Accurate these reading numbers are of course...

Re: What constitutes a Lipo Dud?

I have 4 10S5Ah Nano-tech One pack is a bit odd. One cell is always 0.03V under when charging. After balancing them all to 4.18 and letting cells rest overnight the cell drops to 4.14 Whe then riding down to 3.7V all cells are even, even the "bad" one. When I start the charge to 4.18 the same cell l...

New iPad's battery

Pretty impressive huh, how do you think they did it? "Apple has nearly doubled the capacity of the battery, taking it from 25Wh to a massive 42Wh. Measured in milliamps this boosts the battery from 6944 mAh to a monstrous 11,666 mAh. The obvious way to boost the battery’s capacity would be to double...

Re: Shorted 5s Balance plug, where to find, how to replace?

Had the same thing, melted one nano-tech connector. Did not want to rip the pack tho. Had an extra connector so I cut the burned one and soldered the new one on the old wires, some heat shrink on that and now its fine!

Re: Nano Tech Life

Neil, what I meant is that you replace one bad 10S pack instead of stripping it down to cell level, not the whole race pack :] Not sure you you want to mix new cells with 200 cycles cells? I would change the whole pack and keep the old one as spare if you need to split some of the old and bad cells ...

Thats the thing, If I use regular charger for it then it brings the cells to 4.2 But picked up my cells from a HP laptop battery, here they are: http://www.batteryjunction.com/lg-18650-2600.html Looking in pdf: Cells shall be charged at constant current of 0.5C to 4.2V with end current of 50mA. "2100mAH and 2500mAH a quite "standard" battery capacity. A lot of AA batteries can handle such capacity for 1000 cycles. " Yeah sure, but do they have a low self discharge curve? Sanyo Eneloop is the only way to go guys. Great for high current applications and low discharge, also around 1500 cycles, not bad at all. http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/sanyo/images/eneloop/D3S_7030-eneloop.jpg Have those and they are great, getting all 2100mAh from em. Re: Basic LiPo Charging

Can someone explain how a charger work. You always see in the manuals for chargers that never use it to charge another types of batteries. So, what is the difference between li-ion and a lipo charger, is it only that they have different cutoffs? Like 4.2 for lipo and a bit higher for li-ion? Or is i...

The red plastic connectors(for bullets), any idea on how to disassemble them? I Have those, made one harness wrong and had to cut through the plastic and buy new ones.
