Re: Why short voltage increase when braking? S12S

So I would say your controller have regen. I think the hardware controller can implement some features that can or cannot be after implement in firmware. Maybe the producer of the controllers started shipp a version with regen for BMSBattery while the previous didn't had regen.

Re: Sinewave Vs. Trapezoid Controller

Main difference is the Sinewave drives a motor with less noise and may be less efficient; may not always is. Not to be confused with a Field Oriented Controller (FOC). Most FOC controllers (For DC motors) produce a Sine Wave but use a complex feedback loop to calculate waveform requirements, I'm no...

Re: Show motor temperature with S-LCD3 display

I tried with a 3k ohm resistor. I found only this one. I measured 0,7 V at the resistor. Ambient temperature 17° , motor temp 15° , no reaction. Maybe i have to say that i have not a professional multimeter, so the values may be not exact. Well, it seems to be working, like the throttle. If you mea...

Re: Show motor temperature with S-LCD3 display

Try to read the resistor voltage after connect it. It may work in a similar way as throttle.

20k may be a bit high, I would try with 4.7k.

Re: BMSBattery S-LCD3 <--> S06s serial data protocol?

* C2 Sine Wave Motor Phase Classification Coding Mode 0..7 (3bits): I observed in freewheeling experiments that the S06s (sine wave) consumes significantly more power than the KU63 during freewheeling at the same speed on the same motor&wheel. Some +20% ! I didn't make full load comparisons so far,...

Re: OpenSource EBike firmware (STM8S microcontrollers)

I did install the SDCC compiler for STM8 and I prepared the main.c and gpio.c files, they build correctly but I do not have yet a board to test. I also have the OpenOCD scripts that will let me flash and debug the firmware. I did commit the code to: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/BMSBa...

You can also hook a bluetooth / serial module to the programming port existing on most regular controllers this is what PowerVelocity does and it works great. Thanks. I am starting gathering all information about S06S controllers with the STM8S105C6T6 microcontroller. I now have a LOT of technical documentation, as seen here - please follow the project here: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=87870 Screenshot from 2017-04-26 15-35-05.png

I implemented a modified FOC following Shane Colton documentation. Also having VESC as reference. I found on a cheap controller, that does not do FOC, that it controls the motor also in 2 ways - one at low/medium speeds and then changes to 6 steps commutation at high speeds. Please read here my expl...

The sine-wave controller is rated at 10-20 amps and is running in sensored mode. It is able to hold a steady speed as low as 3 rpm and smoothly ramps up to no-load speed. It is interesting that there is an audible change at around 130 rpm where it seems that the commutation shifts into a different ...
