Re: Fully wireless ANT+ BLE TSDZ2 mid drive motor (like Specialized Turbo Levo) -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

Aspects that I think are very important: 1 - Possibility of having the TSDZ2 information on the Garmin GPS (Human Power, Candence, Assit level, Battery level) through Ant+. 2 - Possibility to connect to the smartphone via bluetooth 3 - Possibility of configuring the TSDZ2 via smartphone 4 - Possibi...

Re: Fully wireless ANT+ BLE TSDZ2 mid drive motor (like Specialized Turbo Levo) -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

@Casainho the nRF52840 board arrived today. That was fast!! It looks like we need the S340 softdevice for concurrent BLE+ANT support which needs registration and manual activation for the download. I hope our usecase counts as "Evaluation Use". :o So they say: Evaluation Use: • Not to be used for a...

adding translations is a nice to have, but it think it will also make things more complicated. there is not much point in translating the configuration menu because then the wiki (at least the configurations page) has to be translated too and should use the same terms as the translation. so the bik...

Re: Fully wireless ANT+ BLE TSDZ2 mid drive motor (like Specialized Turbo Levo) -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

I found that the most cheap Garmin Edge 130 does not support ANT+ LEV as also does not support CIQ apps, unfortunately, because it is important to have cheap display. The next version of Edge to support ANT+ LEV is the Edge 530 that costs 250€. I found that remote buttons are very expensive, the one...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Can I ask, will a TSDZ2 48v motor with the open source firmware run ok on a 36v battery? It may work somehow. The Field Weakening feature on the firmware will make the motor run faster - maybe it will be enough for you to pedal at 80 RPM cadence - there is no feedback from users on this, using a 48...

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

Can you explain us briefly the advantage of a direct drive hub motor compared to the Tongsheng TSDZ2 mid-motor. Hm, this has been discussed thousand times already, it is more a "religious" question than a technical one. The middrive motor has only advantages at long and steep ascents. In all other ...

Fully wireless ANT+ BLE TSDZ2 mid drive motor (like Specialized Turbo Levo) -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

The inspiration for this project is the famous Specialized Turbo Levo Ebike . There is a standard for a wireless ebike: ANT+ Light Electric Vehicle (LEV). As a comparison, you can connect any USB mouse to your computer and it will just work. If you have an ebike that implements the wireless ANT+ LEV...

On the road when this happens the power drops to almost zero and kicks in for slight bursts. p7hAIck0ElA Also noticed an issue with the startup boost. At start up I would get no motor power for 3 ...

I have a strange issue with my TSDZ2 measuring battery voltage with about less 10V and also the value oscillates like +-1 volts. I tested the same battery on another TSDZ2 and vice-versa and yes, the issue is not the battery (even because I measured with a multimeter as also the BMS has Bluetooth a...

i agree with you: adding optional connectivity to this project would be nice, as it allows a lot new features. even if no one would implement these on the first go, the level to do so would be lowered a lot if the hardware is already there. It can also make open source firmware more accessible. my ...
