Re: How far is your average eboard ride?

I'm pretty sure the only way is if you install the packs yourself and put in series. Which companies are you referring to?

Re: How far is your average eboard ride?

6 miles sucks.. You want at least 10 miles. Boosted has lost so many customers due to their 6 mile issue. I don't see how the eboard industry can offer anything above 6 miles with out completely disregarding the regulations or make people pick up their product at a hazmat certified recipient. Makin...

Re: How far is your average eboard ride?

One of the main reasons boosted doesnt ship a larger battery is not the fact you can't take 100Wh on a passenger plane (you can actually take 160Wh according to faa), it because UN regs do not allow shipping >100Wh unless it is is to a hazardous goods location. This really brings up the question whe...

Re: How far is your average eboard ride?

Pictures of the hack, or it didn't happen. Are you running A123s in parallel for 200Wh?

6km range? I thought it got 8-10km?

Re: How far is your average eboard ride?

I've fallen off Kickr before but usually it was during early low speed testing when something was wacky. I'd hate to fall off above 15mph.

What is your average regen current like to brake from 100%-50% speed on flat ground?

What about when you're going down hill trying to hold say 80% full speed?

Re: How far is your average eboard ride?

Kickr V1 was right around 200W-230W at 20kph average speed. in_the_alps have you ever fallen off going that fast? If so, elaborate on that experience ;).. I'm assuming you were peaking much faster than that..

Are you carrying a charger with you if you are doing 4 mile one-way twice a day with a boosted? or is there a hill involved?

Re: How far is your average eboard ride?

Sounds like most people are happy with 6 mile range then, which is what boosted offers. You really have to be going at it to cover 6 miles in 30 minutes.

Boosted's belts are rated for 200 miles with 200lb rider? Are you joking? $1/mile if it's a $30 replacement cost.

Re: Kranx powerstik (drill powered)

Interesting. Coming from this industry I'm a bit perplexed, but this is, nonetheless, a good idea, and easily ramp-able since there are no electronics to debug and battery regulations to abide by.

I can see drill makers adding a new line to their warranty clause... "Do not use on skateboards"

Re: List of available commercial E-Scooters/E-Skateboards

FYI Kickr will likely ship this year. The new version is pretty sick. Looking into offering the capability of running dual Kickrs for <$1k on any board, 10-14 miles range in this configuration.

I don't normally post hints until things are final, but since this is ES, it's a more forgiving audience.

I'm possibly interested, but I don't know enough about that motor. Do you have links or datasheet? is it proprietary?

Re: Free Ride with Lyft. Use Code "ENDLESSSPHERE"

John, that's why Lyft has ratings and does background checks (including driving history). It pulls the GPS locations automatically from your cell and then shows you where the driver is on the map as he moves

Re: Free Ride with Lyft. Use Code "ENDLESSSPHERE"

It's more for commuting around the city and it app-based. Lyft will drive up to 100 miles from the pickup window however.

It only works in cities because it is an on-demand type of service. You request a ride and that dispatches someone instantly...

I think if the 12V is on the low side, it doesn't matter as long as the unisolated 12V case isn't touching the esp120 case.. high side might be the same case it's just you have now exposed 100V pretty openly ;)

Re: Nissan Leaf Cells Test Data

how involved is it to drop the pack and swap cells out? I have an idea, but maybe you guys have first hand experience. i was getting at buying a spare leaf pack on ebay and then assessing it's cells. if absolutely terrible and not worth putting in the car, I'd sell the cells off for nothing and then...
