Re: EBike Toolbox - Bargains! $

10A 12V PSU on ebay. The £9 price includes UK postage, not sure what it would be for you US guys. They're $114 at Newark Element 14 I've been looking for a while for a charger for a Turnigy LiPo charger at a sensible price, the HobbyKing 105w 7A Compact Power Supply was favourite but has been out o...

Re: Crow Cycle Co. double leg Kickstand 570-001

The aluminium one has shed lumps of its plastic coating, and it has 'settled'- both wheels touch the ground at the same time as both legs of the stand. I'll try a steel one next time.

Re: EBike Toolbox - Bargains! $

At that price I ordered one to play with. aliexpress has them too, if you can wait for their deliveries (although it seems to improved over the last couple of months) and also a different style- 5 for $10. I ordered one from ebay to play with.

Re: 18 FET Low RDS MOSFET Overclocker Ready LYEN Controller

I've had none. I just have my low voltage set for the 36V which I use most of the time, and monitor the capacity when using 72V (I have a CA).

Re: 18 FET Low RDS MOSFET Overclocker Ready LYEN Controller

I've got both the 4110 (100V) ans 4115 (132V) Mk 2 18 FET controllers- both work at 36V and 72V for me with no changes for the different Voltages. It's worth letting Lyen know your intended Voltages if you're ordering in case there are changes he recommends.

Are there any real advantages to using that type of thermistor, or is the only advantage that it is the one that you fitted?

I will, thanks. I sent the last using the 3 email addresses I found for him 24 hours ago, and one a day before that. Previously was about a week ago. I'm off the road until I get sorted :(

Re: BMS Battery Alloy Shell Charger Problems

An aside- what do you guys use to hold components in place to stop damage by vibration? I recently had a capacitor leg snap. I guess potting compound but those one use pack things seem an expensive answer for one component.

Re: EBike Toolbox - Bargains! $

I just spotted a meter on Hobbyking , it measures voltage to 60V, 100A, and a few other things [Turnigy 7 in 1 Mega Meter - Battery Checker/Watt Meter/Servo Tester/Optical Tacho/Temp Gauge/Thrust Calc/Battery Internal Resistance Checker]. What caught my eye was the Internal resistance option. under ...

Re: BMS Battery Alloy Shell Charger Problems

there is a third trimpot close to the TL494 IC controller chip. see if you can find it and post up a picture. as said a couple of posts ago I found a third pot right in the corner hiding under the mains in and the fuse wiring after trying the two I'd seen initially which adjusted current when tried...

Re: BMS Battery Alloy Shell Charger Problems

no, you should read what others have posted up already. if you don't know which one adjusts the output voltage by now it means you have not read anything yet. use google search if you don't wanna read what others have already posted. I had looked and didn't find the information I needed so thought ...

Re: BMS Battery Alloy Shell Charger Problems

OK, those two are current, one does the peak current so I assume the other is when it changes charge modes. So shifting wires around there is a 3rd pot tucked away right in the corner under the mains in and fuse holder- that adjusts the Voltage (in case anyone else wants to know). It's well hidden s...

Re: BMS Battery Alloy Shell Charger Problems

no, they have nothing to do with adjusting the output voltage. i recommend that people do not tamper with their charger if they do not know what it is they are doing or why. That's quite a statement considering just how much building and modding goes on in this group- if it stopped how many posts w...

Re: BMS Battery Alloy Shell Charger Problems

An aside- how much voltage adjustment is typically available on the bmsbattery alloy chargers? I've got an EMC-400 36V (43.8V 8A) one and was mainly wondering lower limit I might get, but it would be nice to know the upper too. I've taken a pic as there are a few versions and marked the 2 pots- is t...

Re: Crimping

I did for that plug. But crimps are a better solution, mainly for the lower resistance. As it happens the tie rods on my rear rack snapped so the whole rack rotated around the bottom mount bolts [a good pivot point] and as it rotated it snapped a few of the retaining clips that keep the plug and soc...

Re: Crimping

Thanks. There seem to be 2 different types - that has 2 crimp sizes with good looking machined jaws, the other has 3 crimp sizes but looks like they've got a coated unfinished casting look. I'd seen them but the price is about half that of similar ones so wasn't going to buy without a recommendation.

Crimping

I've looked through loads of posts but couldn't find the answer so what tools do use / recommend for crimping the small connectors on throttles and other switches- jst 2.5 sm connectors or the 2.8mm type which seems to go under many names [eg Hitachi] and is very common. I bought one of those kits w...

Re: Ebike motor/controller hall/phase/throttle tester $29

This is one of those tools that you really must have if you do your own repairs- it can save hours when trying to identify a fault, isolating where not to look is part of working out of the diagnosis. little tips: - the tester on switch is easy to bump accidentally so turn the battery around so the ...
