Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

My 50 cents: Testing in a bicycle at 200A will be interesting.... We need a motorbike! But: With perfectly cooled and driven 4468 the 200A sensors would be the perfect combination, as they have the same theoretical limits. The only little disadvantage is a little bit less precision because th...

Re: Group buy for lebowski powerpcb components

If I can choose, I would also prefer the 4468 ... so this would be £73.44 as for minimum I guess?

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

FET considerations (from a non-specialist): * IXTH180N10T-ND advantage: much lower gate charge and rise/fall time than IRFP4468, cheaper disadvantage: the silicon capabilities are good (180A @25°C), but probably due to small inner bondage wires from the legs to the silicon the I_RMS is indicated as ...

Re: Another SMD lebowski PCB

Not disappointed at all, if we would have to do it by ourselves we wouldn't save much. For me, the pleasure to follow all your (and bobc's!) efforts is already worth the money. Please mention if you expect a PM right now to order or if you first try to find out a reasonable number of interested peop...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

By coincidence I was just checking the dimensions of a Lyen-type controller and a BMS this morning... both have a similar sliding case with inner dimensions of ~ 72 x 140 x 32 mm. With 78 x 145 mm at the moment we are very close, but a further reduction of a few mm in each dimension seems difficult....

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

Glad that kawak was bringing it up. I like the piling-up idea following lebowski's "low inductance output stage construction" thread. If three fully equipped Power PCB's would be stacked with their outputs from the current sensors in parallel (with common GND): Wouldn't the controller just 'see' the...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

Yes, that's the point: The option (for DIY soldering amateurs) to combine the through hole power board with a through hole brain board (mainly the PIC and 2x DC/DC) via the same connector as for the bobc brain. So the through hole philosophy would be consistent. I agree that a nice SMD brain board i...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

Just a thought when I see this nice development, sorry for the distraction... It looks like lebowski's original through hole board (without drivers and current sensors) could be shrinked to the same size as this power board. Wouldn't it be nice to have the option if Bobc's tiny SMD processor board c...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

Nice idea with the temp sensor! Maybe three additional holes for another sensor glued directly on a FET could be nice. Is the brainboard placement over or under the drivers critical? Maybe 'fat' connections on one side, brain connections form the other? Up to now <80mm width seems possible. What do ...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

Very interesting to see how this evolves including the comments on your decisions. Are all the components identical to your original design, except that there are 6 FETs now (2 caps per FET-pair (TO247)) instead of 2 caps for the full bridge (4110, 4115)? It would be very helpful to stay below 80mm ...

Re: Hi power inverter for Nissan leaf motor. Dyno's 302.3hp p15

Wouldn't it be enough to adjust the polynomial coefficients in the 'throttle setup' menu e.g. to (0.1, 0.38, 0.52) to get a smoother low speed behavior?

Re: Show off your lebowski controller

That's why I love ES: I learned so much in a very short time thanks to your tips and the videos. I definitely need bigger chisel-stile soldering tips, finer solder and a flux pen. And this T100 looks very tempting, although with a fatter chisel tip for my 48W Weller things could change a lot. I hope...

Re: Show off your lebowski controller

Thanks for the tips progrock, I will check out these videos! Sorry to be a bit out of topic, but: One of the biggest soldering problems is to connect a fat wire (like 10AWG silicone multistrand) to a chip leg (like current sensor or MTI 85 6-fet chip). With a 48W-Weller the wire is sucking away the ...

Re: Show off your lebowski controller

If you see this, you understand why I'm stuck... inability to solder. I don't have the education, skills, instruments etc. The idea of the design probably wouldn't be bad, very close to lebowski's powerstage proposal. DSC_0104_powerstage_v1_failed_lo.jpg This attempt just fell apart, so I bought som...

I'm deeply impressed by these nice outcomes... my own attempts are quite embarrassing  . Re: Update files Lebowski controller IC

Andy, you are right: When I ordered 30 units of the ACS758 the price was at EUR 5.54, so in USD it would be a bit more. Is your smaller board using the components of the original lebowski board, just splitting the board in two sections? As far as I remember you use the smaller controller IC and a di...

Re: Update files Lebowski controller IC

Although the fascinating switched reluctance motors are not (as far as I know) available on the market in our desired size, compatibility with the lebowski controller would be nice.
