Re: Hub motor locks?

if your axles are the same thread and diameter as any of the car wheel bolts (quite a few are), then you could probably use car wheel locking nuts. https://www.google.com/search?q=car+wheel+locking+nuts&tbm=isch Ha! I stumbled into the same idea, and think I found some open end lug nuts that should...

Hub motor locks?

Jump bikes (rental bikes) have a keyed locking...nut...or something, on the ends of the axles on their front driven bikes.
My Google-fu has failed me, and can't find anything comparable for sale.

What good ways are there to keep them from being tampered with?

Re: Help troubleshoot ebikeling waterproof motor - no worky

Hills and heavy weights will be when the battery is working it's hardest, so even one cell that's not up to snuff can ruin the fun when the bms steps in. From what you're describing it doesn't sound like a wire connection issue unless it happens to be internal to the pack. I'd ensure the pack is pe...

Re: Help troubleshoot ebikeling waterproof motor - no worky

What does it mean when the battery capacity goes down to say 25%, then "regenerates" back to 85 % after stopping for a minute or so? ...that behavior suggests the battery was too small, or is old, or generally not the right pack for the motor... ...or is filled with garbage cells straight out of th...

Re: Help troubleshoot ebikeling waterproof motor - no worky

Learned that the throttle is also limited by the PAS level; For the LCD3 display there are a couple of settings. One keeps the throttle active when PAS is 0. Another let’s you choose whether the throttle has access to full power regardless of PAS level, or varying the maximum throttle power with th...

Re: Help troubleshoot ebikeling waterproof motor - no worky

I recently bought an ebikeling waterproof set up with the 36v/48v controller and the 500w/36v Bafang hub motor. It simply would not work at all with a 36v battery (tested at 40v). The display showed one led of power but the motor did not respond at all to the throttle. When I plugged in my 52v Ego ...

Any experience with Energie Cycles? (Short person bike)

Been looking for a do it all step through for my wife. Came across the "e-fat step", which looks perfect. Folding is not needed, however, and company seems pretty small. Not a lot of press or reviews, but not sure I have a lot of concern about that, either, since all bikes in this range are going to...

Re: Using cheap adjustable power supply to get 80% charge?

Im sure it will put some charge in your batteries, but remember it is only a power suppy ( CV reg ?) and NOT a CC/CV controlled charger. Most batteries are charged with CC initially (to about 80%). mine seems to be a CC/CV controlled charger, charged with CC initially. So is the one I posted. You c...

Re: Using cheap adjustable power supply to get 80% charge?

CPS-6011 60V 11A Gophert Not exactly cheap, but it is more powerful, including taxes and shipping about 150$. 11 amps is overkill; not sure many batteries can take that? If someone accidently turns up the voltage or sets it wrong, you can overcharge your batteries. A good BMS should be able to prev...

Using cheap adjustable power supply to get 80% charge?

Anybody use something like this for multiple battery types (eg 36v, 48v, and 52v batteries?) https://www.amazon.com/Variable-Digital-Adjustable-Regulated-Switching/dp/B07YC6LXNT/ This is one of those awesome products that fakespot rates F, and reviewmeta rates perfect. Re: Help troubleshoot ebikeling waterproof motor - no worky

New controller putting out 4.75 volts, and throttle works!
Haven't tested the PAS yet.
Learned that the throttle is also limited by the PAS level; 0 = no throttle.

What does it mean when the battery capacity goes down to say 25%, then "regenerates" back to 85 % after stopping for a minute or so?

Re: Help troubleshoot ebikeling waterproof motor - no worky

Did you check that you have 5v from the positive pins of the PAS and throttle connectors coming out of the controller? Tested it tonight. In this image for reference, Pin 1 is furthest left, 3 furthest right: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/aWoAAOSw2DBau~ZV/s-l300.jpg PAS connector puts out 5 volts ...

Did you check that you have 5v from the positive pins of the PAS and throttle connectors coming out of the controller? Nope, had no idea. but I have a new controller on the way. I'll play with it. Waterproof connectors are known for making connection difficult. The small ones for throttle, 2 brake ...

Re: Help troubleshoot ebikeling waterproof motor - no worky

^ awesome, thanks for that. They look very similar.

I found that the "walk" feature (down button for ~6 seconds) does work, so this implicates the controller.
Tried both settings of p09 and all 3 settings of p10 to no effect.

Let ebikeling know; hopefully they can just send me a new controller.

Help troubleshoot ebikeling waterproof motor - no worky

New conversion kit, and I'm getting no response whatsoever from either the throttle or the PAS. :x Battery is putting out 40.5 volts, and it's a 36v motor. Controller is set to 36v, and it is showing battery is 100%. I went through the settings, and made sure P10 is set to 2, which enables both thro...

Hoverboard vs e bike battery and charger?

Hi, new to the forum. In terms of a charger, is there any difference besides amps and volts? For example, a 42v 2a hoverboard charger should be fine for a 36v 15ah battery, yeah? Now... Why doesn't the hoverboard battery have a charge plug separate from the discharge plug like an e bike battery? Doe...
