Re: When Windows 7 is dead in 2020 what OS will you migrate to??

I was checking out my fps of 110~120, then I thought, my asus triple monitors are gaming monitors, but 7yo, looked up the specs and 75Hz max, doh, lol. So I limited UT2020 ingame to 60fps everything on max at 1920x1080, looks and plays well, I am happy with it. Cpu is bouncing 6~8% lol, the 3rd core...

Re: When Windows 7 is dead in 2020 what OS will you migrate to??

Thats a nice case. I have a ancient steel server case, with all my drives installed it weighs 78lbs, lol, its so old it has 5 80mm fans. It has five 5.25 bays, one a dvd burner, but the rest i have 5 HDD in plus the 6 in the bottom, my case sits on my L shaped corner desk to the right of my triple 2...

Re: Building A Ludicrous 14s2p SPIM08hp battery

@ Dogdipstick thanks for the reply. The FET in your signature I wish I would of found for my high rpm project a year ago, the inductive kick was beating my fets up (mostly irfz44/46). You can see the kickback voltage being clamped by the poor fet (top blue trace in the scope shots shows around 75V c...

Re: When Windows 7 is dead in 2020 what OS will you migrate to??

I said screw it, robbed the heatsink/fan off the 2689. Used my m.2 drive with already installed win10 (probably not the best, after a reboot C drive activity settled down, used my old 7850 video card (half the speed of the rx580) and ran PM. Impressive for a $106 12c/24t cpu. I am really thankful yo...

Well my e5-2678v3/MB/32GM ram came yesterday, but I won't be able to fire it up for a while, to many other projects and the heatsink/fan has not come yet (although I can steal it off my e5-2689 setup), doh! https://aliexpress.ru/item/4000440445220.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.200f5ca1Ltg9hf&algo_p...

Re: Building A Ludicrous 14s2p SPIM08hp battery

here he shows these cells to be 30milliohm, that is quite high imo, specially for the size/capacity, but there is so many factors in testing IR, so who knows if that number is correct I have 1800mha lipo cells under 3milliohm, 5x less capacity, and 10x less resistance, seems like these spim08hp cell...

Re: When Windows 7 is dead in 2020 what OS will you migrate to??

The more I use Aliexpress, the more I learn about the whole site. Re: When Windows 7 is dead in 2020 what OS will you migrate to??

i7-980x still running well, no BSOD yet. Its a x58 chipset, 1366 socket with triple channel memory (6 slots). I got the MB and ram in 11 years ago, it was 2GBx3 sticks for 6GB. I have a pair of gskill 8GB sticks for 16GB and a corsair vengeance 8GB stick, all are 1600MHz, but the timings are probabl...

Re: When Windows 7 is dead in 2020 what OS will you migrate to??

Regarding my i7-980x WHEA BSOD issue. I upped the cpu voltage 5 clicks (1.24375 to 1.26575) but it failed to boot, so i put it back to the stock voltage, but instead of AUTO, I manually set it to the default value (1.24375V). Is there a difference from AUTO and setting it to MANUAL? (like auto chang...

Re: 1+1=3: Planning and creation of a 2WD fast electric bike

Thanks, interesting stuff. I have bought ferrofluid from ebay long ago and made my own from VCR tapes, neither would work for this application, thats why I asked and learned about that product. Looks ok for low rpm motors, I was interested in higher rpm motors like my quads have (4s to 6s) and 2400~...

Re: 1+1=3: Planning and creation of a 2WD fast electric bike

You mentioned a plan to increase the motor phase wires. I wouldnt expect and increase in performance, or improved voltage drop. However put in the fattest wire that will fit the passageway between the inside and outside of the motor. Once outside, make the wire even fatter. I am guessing longer pha...

Re: When Windows 7 is dead in 2020 what OS will you migrate to??

I been playing a few games lately on my xeon E5-2689/32gb/rx580-8gb, this cpu is laughing at these games, mostly around 30~40% use, my video card is 100% used, but no lag or stuttering, seems these days its mostly about the video card is the limiting factor. I am truly a beleiver of the YT video, 8c...

Re: Capacity Mapping (Optimal Charge-Discharge Voltages)

"most" packs i deal with in rc have zero bms circuit, only balance leads, I can see most packs for ebikes probably do (they rarely use a good balance charger), i should of been more specific. :D It was a painful costly experience with HvLiPo's. For me, a 70 cent lipo alarm is all I add to any DYI pa...

Re: Capacity Mapping (Optimal Charge-Discharge Voltages)

You'd get a more accurate graph if you charged/discharged at a lower rate and measured more often. In your first charging graph where the voltage goes up from 3 to 3.5 in 400mah and one measurement, the "line" between those data points appears more like an exponential curve. Yea, I should not of ev...

@ Acido, I am assuming your going to be gaming with the OS, I would think it would give better benchmark results, have you tried and compared the two, if there is a difference? Now that Win7 is "dead", have you guys heard any hacking that has been done on Win7, I have not? FYI, after many attempts o...

Update: the second graph is discharge at 1A to each datapoint on a 18650 single cell. 18650 capacity per voltage region.jpg It does have a couple valleys, but not really like some of the graphs posted earlier in the thread. Most of DA’s capacity mapping is done whilst DISCHARGING rather than charging.
Good to know, most discharge curves I see are relativity flat (for most of the capacity), so I am even more curious why his graphs are all bumpy. I will try and report back, thanks.

I came across this thread by accident, neat testing. I had no idea, the peak and valleys (capacity sections) were there in the batteries that is shown in your graphs. I might try this on a 18650 and LiPo. I have a couple changers i could use (306b, gt1000, isdt-Q6+ and maybe a couple others) or I mi...

Thanks for the comments. Another question. When installing the M.2 drive, I unplugged my current SSD drive with win10 on it, installing win10 on the new m.2 drive, checking device manager showed a strange to me mark under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. I first removed my PCIe 6 port sata3 card, it did n...
