Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Out of curiosity: can the firmware be downgraded on the 850C? Or even the original firmware put back? This is of interest in case a current release has a major bug. I and probably others rely on their bikes to be fully functional at all times to run errands, go to work, etc. Without the possibility ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

The only bugs: at assistance level 15 or higher you can make the motor go to full assistance just by moving the cranks very slowly, which is kind of cool and fun, like a foot throttle. I tend to ride on level 13 all the time, I found that gave the best assistance for my cadence and still gave me a ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

My motor did really bite into the frame at the chain stays :( I’m worried this will cause a rust issue down the line since this frame is cromoly. What do you guys think?

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

The usability of having to calibrate the torque sensor each ride would be too much for her. She expects the bike to operate just like a car. Turn it on and go. Seems you didn't understand. Torque sensor calibration is only done once. Great. I thought the crank arm had to be positioned correctly eac...

TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I'm a bit confused by the sensor calibration procedure. How many different weights do I need to find/use? And do I need to do each side, left and right? Ideally 7 or 8. You want to go the whole range between 0 kg and however much your sensor tops up at. That will give you more points for the curve ...

I have installed one with OSF (6.3) on a cargo trike. Please stop using that firmware version or your motor controller may burn!! Hi guys, why do I always have to set the actual time when battery was changed? Isn't the time being stored in the 850C display? I just wrote about this on the wiki FAQ: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/TSDZ2_wiki/wiki/FAQ#850C_display_clock_losing_time My display has a date stamp of 201...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I uploaded sw102 0.6.9 and 0.55 to tsdz2 a few days ago. I drove 50km and everything works. a few posts earlier someone wrote that the driver burned uploading 6.8 or 6.9. Was it a problem during the upload process or is I at risk of damaging the driver while driving? These versions have been pulled...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I've got a 850C and 52v stock firmware setup that I want to move to the Open Source firmware for both. However, should I go with 850C Version 0.6.2 (which pairs with Motor Version 0.51.0) or wait for an impending release? I guess what I'm asking is what is coming soon from the developers versus 0.6...

Brand new TDSZ2? I just got a new TDSZ2 to put on my wife's bike. I currently have a modified one on my touring bike (flashed, thermal pads, temp sensor, dual chainring, KT-LCD3... ). I bought it from PSW Power. Should I install the new one and ride it for a while in the stock configuration, in cas...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hey all, I'm new here and just a few days ago installed a tsdz2 750w and a 48v battery. It works pretty well, but in terms of speed I'm a little disappointed, with speed limit setting 25 kph OFF, I reach 30-33 kph on flat ground, I thought top speed would be higher. Is this all right, Is 30-33 kph ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I am running stock 52v firmware on the motor and euronau firmware on the 850c, and it also does the same. I usually turn off things by flipping off the switch on my battery, but I will start using the actual power off button on the 850c first and see if that resolves the issue I always switch off w...

French legislation now bans the practice of eMTB tuning. If an individual or retailer are caught modifying an ebike to derestrict its maximum speed, the offence is now punishable by up to one-year imprisonment (two year for retailers) and up to a €30,000 fine. https://ebike-mtb.com/en/france-bans-i...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

What's the difference between P850C, 850C, and 860C? Does the firmware upgrade only work on the 850C? Are there different sub versions of the 850C? If yes how do I specify the specific model / version that accepts the new firmware? Thanks I successfully flashed a P850C last week, no problem. I thin...

No it’s fine, I left the assist cut off at 25 km/h, that’s enough for me. And I don’t use a throttle, so if I don’t pedal then the bicycle doesn’t move.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I think I read earlier in the thread that you now have to press all three buttons at once to get the menu. This is done because the mechanics to detect the long vs short press has the side effect of making the menu navigation not very responsive. Can’t find the post though.

Re: Is it realistic to expect using y DIY ebike all year round in Switzerland?

To give an update, I’ve been riding the bicycle over the winter and most of the snow days. It’s fine. The road is usually cleared and salted. With the right clothing it’s not a problem.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Yeah the bafang 850c won’t work with the tadz2 out of the box, even with the motor on stock firmware. You need a special version of the stock firmware for the display to work with the stock tsdz2, and you need the OSF on both devices for them to work together.
