Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

by transposon » Mar 21 2020 11:35pm Thanks for the input everyone. I think I am going to get the 1500W version in order to be able to pull some cargo. In order to get up and running, I think I am going to get one of the kits. I am confused on the top speeds listed for the kits. I assume they are ar...

Re: C Cab Hot Rod Power Advice

Your doing the fun build. You can finish with nothing fancy, then later play with motor steering later.
Like AWD you can track wheel speed of each wheel and control the traction, turning and braking.

EV's are never done, always a work in progress.

I still need to put a switch so I can have reverse.

Re: C Cab Hot Rod Power Advice

Zero turn, front wheels 90 deg capable. will need a separate reverse switch for each motor. then you could just spin in circles. just kidding.

Think they have touched on this early in this thread.

Re: Favourite hall connector - recommendations

by John in CR » Mar 12 2020 3:57am My disconnect and reconnect are so rare, I've just gone to hard-wiring everything, so I completely avoid corroded connections or other poor connections. The time it takes to solder wire-to-wire, heat shrink, and then heat shrink over the set of halls, takes about ...

Then don't max out the bike, ride it slower than it can go, use 60% - 80% of batter max. The bike can last for years or until you want something different.

Re: C Cab Hot Rod Power Advice

It's better to work thru the problem and don't get into a hurry. Building it is the best part, I built two before my trike, just to figure out all of it. First one was a kit the plugged together, next was parts that was made to work together and then my trike that needed the wiring worked out like y...

I'm also thinking of just doing a direct 'touch and let go' approach from the battery to the motors, just to see if the motors actually work. Specifically bypassing the controller.
Don't do that, the motor is not made for that, not a brushed DC motor.

I live in Texas so being bombarded with fear mongering is everyday thing. If you know what they are doing it's annoying if not you fall into the pit and lose focus on what is real and important.

We are not getting the rain we should. It acts like rain but mostly fog and sprinkles. If we don't start getting a few inches in the rain gauge it will be a brown spring.

Well said "spinningmagnets" now it clicks for me long mains and parallel to it. I have been watching these modules. Want to make custom batteries for my trike to run along the frame on each side. 20S4P X 2.

Longer frames and fatter tires better ride but at speeds the tires will need to be better. I would want to build my own with a little more battery than you need.

Re: small wheel efficiency

There are drawbacks on the small wheels in the rear, bumps and chain ring size.

I may start planning to put two of grins all axel V2 motors on the front of a trike in 24" rims @ 72V so I can have my 29er rear wheel and 11 speed cassette.

Re: Separate Charge and Load output on BMS. What are the differences?

I have two 74V, 25ah batteries. have the charge port, power port and a switch. Factory charger only charges 74v batteries. The power port can be switched from 74v to 36v by the switch. I switch to 36v when connecting batters for use. It can be switched to 36v and charged with the 74v charger on the ...
