Jeron which display comes with your ultra that allows you to use 9 levels pas?

And are you still happy with the programming you listed here?

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Update - just for the heck of it I checked Miranda and it looks like the delta cranks are in-stock in all lengths for Q16 (even a 150mm option!) - again you would have to actually place the order to confirm but if true that is great news to me in case I need to replace a crank (probably can only or...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Thanks to all users for a thoroughly informative thread! I'm in the process of deciding on the specs for a HT1000, and hope for your input for the choice between 48V 21Ah and 52V 17.5 Ah. From what I could gather from this thread, the general consensus seem to lean towards 52V. A read a couple of c...

Re: Bafang Ultra Discussion

I've been running six Dewalt Flexvolt 20v/60v 4ah/12ah batteries in a backpack on the stock controller. They top off at 63v. I've ridden several hundred miles with no problems. It flies like a bat out of hell.zoom.jpg The caps on the controller are 60v rated, so you are slightly out of spec. Just s...

Re: Bafang ultra max 2.2kw EXCESS controller

Jeron, warrantee seems to me an issue and as manufacturer you only want to offer customers products that you can support. Second, the reason why Exess did not want to send the motors to the US is the fact that they do not have UL approval! Therefor any other manufacturer will reject to ship them to...

Re: Bafang ultra max 2.2kw EXCESS controller

Exess actually does not manufacture this controller, it is made by a German company called Innotrace GmbH. We are in contact with Innotrace and will check about the display requirements. We believe that Exess is no longer willing to supply the separate Bafang motors with this controller, they provi...

In the video, some of your questions where answered.

- Display is the same, it uses the same communication protocol as the stock controller.
Seriously? i heard something about a can bus, the original is a serial bus. I don't think we can use the original?

Re: Bafang ultra max 2.2kw EXCESS controller

There are still so many questions. - what display do we need? - is there live data with android app so i can use my phone as display? - how to program? - is on the fly programming possible (one button reprogramming to legal speeds like the eggrider?) - my frey battery has a 30 amp fuse, so i need to...

Per an email from Jurgen today, the motor WILL have to be sent back to Exess for the new controller installation (or buy a motor/controller). :(
If you want it now yes. But they told me you can buy the controller only in a couple of weeks.

Does this mean that I won't have to send my motor back to use the new controller?

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I have a lever for this function, took over from the front brake electric cutoff. I use it as a clutch lever essentially, tap to cut power during shifts, or hold to cut power while riding low speeds in particular. The lever is custom made 1.5 finger size, sits below the front brake lever in a very ...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Ignore my torque settings, these are set to mimic cadence only just like the BBS range, can't do torque assist with my lung condition. Works like a charm, but not on the DPC-18 V3 display Rest looks similar and certainly nothing to justify the lack of throttle without an active speed sensor. Hardwa...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I’ve been playing with the gearing a little bit and increased the size of the chainring (from 40T, to 42T and now 46T) - for me this now puts it in my sweet spot as 60% of the time I am in the middle cog on the rear cassette (optimal chainline) but have the flexibility of the higher and lower range...

Re: Programming the Bafang Ultra 1000W

I did a 60km trip with it and I liked the settings. I used PAS 1,2 and 3 the most and 4,5 for when I needed a bit more speed. I am curious what you guys think of it?

I am using 9 PAS levels for fine control.
