Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I have the new version that seems to work very well for me, on solving the motor backwards resistance and the BOOST bug. I want to share it but I now hit the issue on SDCC that refuses to build the LCD3 firmware... so I can't share the he files..... :-( Hope you can sort this out! Got it, after ins...

Re: MiniSpotA spot welder

I prefer manual because I want to make sure I put enough pressure on it before I trigger.
It is possible that I may be the one changing the type of triggering by mistake, but I would be surprised. It was quite annoying, it happened about once in 10 welds.

Re: MiniSpotA spot welder

hi there, I have juste finish my first battery with MiniSpotA, 13S5P (LG HG2). Pure nickel strip 0.15mm x 6mm (5 meters ! ) Current time : 3ms Manual trigger. https://i.imgur.com/IgKKPF9.jpg https://i.imgur.com/sO5nk8r.jpg The only issue is that the MiniSpotA switch from "Manual Switch" to "...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

850C LCD I am happy, although I did burn a 850C LCD and an USB port of my computer. I was blocked on this firmware because I was missing communication packages and the display data was hanging/blocking but now it is now more. I had to rewrite a lot of things to get it working. There is still more p...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

So, motor is absorbing only 6 amps instead of the 18 amps you would like to, but that is a limitation of the BLDC motors, they say they has max torque at startup and it reduces to 0 at motor max speed. Thanks for the good technical explanation! So we have done some very basic tweaking to get higher...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

At higher speeds you may be near the limit of motor speed. Please look on LCD3 for the motor erps speed and the PWM duty-cycle value. If PWM duty-cycle is like 250 at that situations, then you are on the limit of the motor and the energy that flows to the motor drops. You can get the max energy flo...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hi guys, About the shudder issue, I think you reach the maximum current limit, so controller start to decrease duty-cycle (every 12 cycle of 64µs if necessary), and then increase (because signal like torque pedal may be noisy, or under battery current limit) and you feel it, like micro torque decrea...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Currently I am a step before installing kit on the bike. Could you advise me how many milliohms is recommended to set for my battery (13s5p Sanyo 17,5A NCR18650GA 840Wh)? I set default 130 but I guess this number have to be different. It seems that the internal resistance of one cell is 40mOhm, as ...

I think the torque of the motor is proportional to the battery current.
No, this is definitivly wrong.
This is not wrong, it is an approximation, and it is as accurate as the one currently used.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

The problem is that you divide torque by voltage to calculate the setpoint current. The consequence is that the current setpoint will be underestimated. ...I am very sorry for not sharing my point of view effectively. Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Hi, I was reading the source code, really very interesting in passing, and I found a small typo, when you calculated the pedal torque for each unit of torque measurement, you considered a gravity of 9.18 instead of 9.81m/s². This gives a value of 55 instead of 52 for #define PEDAL_TORQUE_X100

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I think is great NIPSEN that is trying to give new ideas and yes, at startup we are multipling torque sensor for assist level factor, which is strange because assist level is for a power factor... Anyway, I think would be to confuse to have another factor to configure on LCD3. Also, startup boost c...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

We don't need to know the motor torque, as we just want to control the power. I'm not saying you need to know the torque of the engine. I say that without pedal speed, you "must" have known the gear ratio and the engine torque constant Kt. If we ignore losses it's just P = U * I. Of course you coul...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

If we consider that tsdz2 run at 4000rpm unloaded with 48V, so Kt = 83.3rpm/V And the relationship between Kv and Kt, so Kt=60/(2.pi.Kv)=0.115N.m/A Ex: for 10N.m on pedals, so 10/41,8 = 0.24N.m engine side. So I = 0.24/0.115 = 2A Ex2: for maximum current of 16A Engine torque = 0.115*16 = 1.84N.m max...
