I was going to use a center lock to 6 bolt adapter the mount off the back side. Not sure it will be strong enough though.
Your adapter is beautiful, makes my manual machining look very rough.

I've seen batteries mounted in the space where the radiators were. More of a modular setup though.

It fits around the spline created by the brake mounting fixture correct? I've had something similar in mind and another design using a centerlock hub to get it bolted behind that area.

Batteries and motors can't be almost anywhere unless you don't mind having the handling of a forklift. Batteries need to be low and centralized, which is also where the people want to be. You can make them part of the structure but only if you are confident they will never need replacement. Motors e...

With the larger rear sprocket you may be able to get away with a higher front sprocket since you should have a fair amount of anti-squat.

Re: Hubs for left side drives?
I now have a Velocity hub with excellent bearings. I always buy extra bearings because they may stop making them. Since when? Most bearings used in cycle components are industrially standard parts that will be available long after the parts they go into are out of production. Some of the weirder be...

Re: 2016 Electric Motion EM 5.7 Upgrade
Increasing voltage will allow you to lower gearing without losing top speed. Also changing controllers for higher phase amps and faster response should make a difference. Additionally I believe that Emotion offered an electronic clutch which allows you to dial the throttle then "engage" it by releas...

Re: Max comfortable width of pack mounted in triangle
Keep in mind one person's "offroad" is another's walking path. So be careful which advice you follow. Me personally I want it under 5" at top tube height, perhaps slightly more on the downtube but not much. Be careful to take into account suspension travel if you are going to do any real offroading....

I'll be interested to see if there is much of an efficiency reduction especially with that much wrap around the idler.
On the other hand with that much wrap you almost don't need teeth on the rear sprocket so wear should be very low.

That rear hub will not be a good choice on rough terrain. Put the money into more battery and controller for the cyc, it can take it.

Re: What kind of Salvage motors should I look for?
I think by the time you buy all the accessories to make a salvage motor run as a mid-drive the Cyclone will seem like a reasonable price. It isn't great but it works and so long as you aren't running it full tilt it's reliable (I commute one).

Re: 250W RC belt drive - how to pick voltage/gearing for best efficiency
Rather than driving the cranks via a separate chain and chainwheel you could look at a "chain puller" style. Depending on wattage you might still need a freewheel. Also you'd need a gearbox but at that wattage they are easily found in the robotics field for reasonable prices or could be done with mu...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners
Given that dB is a logarithmic scale that is a HUGE noise decrease. My thought is going for the large amount of wrap around both sprockets should allow slightly less tension and also keep rocks out of the drivetain. My one concern would be replacing a custom on-off rear sprocket. I have an idea for ...

The 1kw isn't out of the question, look at CYC pulling +5kw out of a motor weighing perhaps 3x that much not to mention the Tangent builds. I'm sure that keeping it spinning is part of the equation so gear selection will be important. I'm interested to see how much reduction it has and what sort of ...
