Disregard my last. here is a pic of Luke's bike with a 273 laced to an 18" rim, its 2X lace pattern, he did have the holes drilled at steep angles to make it work.
Looks like 1x to me? Am I missing something?

Re: How much power is too much power? (hub motor)

If I had a little more power it would probably be perfect. So whats it got? Srry i have to know. Nice, nice bike. Clean, neat, comfy looking, but still with that racer stance. nice. Plus pedals, so very cool. I had a goal to build a 40 hp bike using only 400A @ 72v doesn't seem unachievable. You ar...

Re: Spot weld cell puncture - how 'catastrophic' is this?

What would I do? I'd weld it shut with lead, and monitor it for the next year to know the answer definitively. In a drawr in a fireproof safe in a bank vault under Fort Knox. Datalogged from baseline every week for a year. I would not use it in a pack that you will rely upon or be complacent with in...

Re: crack in frame. salvageable?

It would take me 30 seconds per side to weld that shut in steel. I promise you wont break it again, . Ever,., .I would use a stick, and it wouldn't be pretty and shiny, with zero splatter, but would look and be very strong. I could mig it, I could tig it, if you wanted zero splatter and perfect half...

Re: Recommended battery / BMS tester ?

I am building a load array that you can run with a Cycle Analyst and datalog the results. It is getting kind of expensive, but is a universal battery/motor/controller testing machine. 24v-240v. Max I can pull is about 20Kw. Min is about 75w.

Not much out there.

You can't use that switch for speed control. The blower is also only single speed. You would need a speed controller for a single phase motor. Oh damn... Re: Affordable Cell Cycler?

It was general statement that universal/modeller charger is usually not designed as battery tester/cycler. My issues with PLx software was that there were no possibility to set any cycle count, there was only options 1,5,10,20 and infinite. Other issue was with the stability of very long logs, I lo...

Most problems are related with the software. What problems? Might I ask, friend? ? What software did you use? There are other soft wares for viewing the data ( than the OEM)... My Pl6 by Revolectrix is very good when it comes to it. You know. I can set it up and do a 100mAh cell ( x6, actually) through hundreds cycles or a 100Ah cell through hundreds of cycles. All on datalog and spreadsheet for export. Old, but good. Well known and accepted in the hobby community, and sim...

Does this data look correct for these QS205 windings? If this is right then the 3T makes almost double the hp and for 83% of its RPM range it has more power. 5T 3T.png [/quote] That is only power at peak load.. ( full throttle).... and the 5T runs into its loaded speed. The 3T keeps pulling power u...

We’re at 10,000 watts right now. It’s amazing to me, but we’re running over 120 amps at over 80 volts. On a sub 100 lb bike it runs like a light motorcycle.

Re: Can I Lower The Current of This Fan With This Switch?

Typically no. I am not sure how you would use that switch you linked. It is just 2/3/4 Position 8 Terminals Rotary Cam Changeover Switch with Screws. Insulated to 660V, able to handle 20A reliably. And how is the fan wired? Is it "3-speeds motor" ( like a ceiling fan), or is what is in that little b...

You never see a solder-only high current connector in industrial machinery. Crimping is not only much faster and easier to do, it’s also much more reliable. I like the form factor of XT90s etc., but I would only install them on my own equipment if they could be crimped. I totally agree. That is why...
