Cyclone 3000 controller options

I think it would be great if we use this thread to gather information regarding Cyclone 3000 controller options, since it seems to not work with some controllers (such as Phaserunner) Here are my two cents: 1 - Stock controller works, but no current control loop, and no field weakening. I have good ...

Can anyone share a BBSHD cover plate drawings or files for 3D printing? I mean the casing of the controller.

Thanks!

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Oh, I got the Bluetooth ESC with my kit and I have added some solder to the internal shunt so it goes up to 80 amps. I want the CA for this reason - to be able to limit the current in a flexible way. Anyway this was solved by disconnecting the gnd wire in the throttle connection from external shunt ...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

I have, and I've experienced nothing unusual. Anyone paired a Cyclone 3000 stock controller with a Cycle Analyst and an external shunt? I am seeing strange behavior. The ESC will not pull the same currents as it will without the CA, even though the throttle voltage is higher with the CA. Is it poss...

Cycle Analyst current limit issue

Hi, I use CA with pass thru throttle. 1 - The current will not go over 40Amps even though the limit is set much higher. 2 - When I connect the throttle directly to the controller, bypassing the CA I can get up to 80 Amps. 3 - If I decrease the current limit below 40 amps, the limit will work as expe...

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Couple of questions regarding controllers: 1) Is there a good current based alternative to stock controller? stock controller controls speed rather than current. 2) When I try to set overspeed in stock controller, I can only set it up to 15. If I try to set it higher, It goes down to 15 after I hit...

1) Is there a good current based alternative to stock controller? stock controller controls speed rather than current. Nucular. 12F if you're bold and do like changing your bicycle drivetrain components. 6F is good enough to destroy weaker links and get maintenance cycle low :D Do you have experien...

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w

Hi guys, maybe you can help- I currently run a BBSHD paired with an ASI BAC800 controller, with a 84V battery. I limit the battery current to 42A (to protect the nylon gear) which gives me a little more than 3KW peak. I was thinking of upgrading to the X1 pro to get more power. How are these number...

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited run

I can't get the virtual freewheel function to work. The motor doesn't even make the humming noise of just before starting to spin. Any help guys? What am I missing? Is it a software update I'm missing? maybe special parameter permissions? Attached id the config file and a video. https://www.youtube....

Re: Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited run

I tried enabling the virtual freewheel with a mid drive motor, but on the stand I see no effect. When I let go of the throttle, the motor just stops, no matter the current I set. Any suggestions?

Re: Cyclone 3000 clicking noises

I dont know how to pull the rotor out of the stator. Took the top plate off, and loosen the bottom, but the magnets in the rotor are to strong to just pull out. Any Idea what could be making this noise? https://youtu.be/JqzMC7cEmiM You need to remove retaining ring from motor shaft at the sun gear....

Ok. I have only one question: how many chain links are you running on that beast?
Lots of lots of them... probably at least 50% over a normal chain length... I should count it

Re: My Cyclone 3000 direct drive build

Reguarding this build: Why not put the motor inside the triangle and mount the battery below the downtube or in the backpack? Two reasons- 1) I wanted to get rid of the clutches and tensioner to make the bike more reliable and quite. The only way to do that is to align the motor axis along with the...

My Cyclone 3000 direct drive build

Motor mount was made from 6mm/3mm aluminium cut with CNC. The motor chainring was increased to 26T to reduce chain stress. With the narrow wide chainring the chain doesnt fall even on rough terrain. The motor is coupled with a Phase runner (which was hell to set up) and pulls about 45A with a 20s ba...

Mid drive heat dissipation - water cooling?

Hi, I run a BBSHD with an external controller. I used to run it at 3KW, but recently found out that 60 amps at 84V is loads of fun! The only problem is that the motor gets really hot. I have attached a few heat sinks on the bottom of the motor, but it still gets hot. Thought about attaching a PC wat...

Cyclone 3000 un-smooth throttle response

Cyclone 3000 throttle response with stock controller is very un-smooth. Not suitable for off road, the bike can throw you off of it if you'll ride while standing. Is there a solution? Another controller maybe? Tried Phase runner, but it can't read the encoder, and not sure if will improve the thrott...

Cyclone 3000 waterproof connector issues

I got a Cyclone3000 with the waterproof connectors, seen in the image.
The problem is I want to use a different controller than the stock one, so I need make a new cable that can connect to the motor.
does anyone know the name of this connector? Or the pinout (encoder signals, supply etc...)

Thanks!
