Re: 25kW Electric Pitbike / Small Motorcycle

What throttle did you use? Does the throttle feel pretty durable? The cheap scooter ones from ebay dont feel like they can take much abuse or bumps, not something you want to feel on a homemade contraption

Re: Ninja 250 "Clone" Made in China

Insulate with aerogel sheets? Where do you find those? I had seen a video about a smaller company that started making and tweaking the final composition so I assumed it was getting a little more affordable but not to the point where you could put it in a motorcycle. I'd love to put it in my walls at...

Re: Homemade Battery Packs

Curious if anyone else would recommend tinkering with those 40V ryobi packs to make a larger storage pack. I'm kind of torn between the power tool hot swap convenience versus an enclosed, well weather proofed system. I would be putting this in what is essentially a toy (mx650) so not loads of real e...

Re: Looks like this is my next project: Razor RSF650

Awesome work. Would love to see a top speed run. :bigthumb: Which wheel bearings did you use? Also would love to know alternatives for hydraulic brakes if you were to go down that road. I have a feeling some MTB hydraulics would do it, but would probably need a custom bracket. Either that or weld th...

Re: Throttle acting funny, motor spinning without input

It wasn't tough to take apart the piece near the handle of the throttle (3 screws). Popped off the cover, lo and behold, the sensor was out of its little mounting spot close to the magnet on the handle; https://imgur.com/a/WmmX2aN . The handle has 1 continuous magnet and as it turns, the magnet move...

Good info here. Thanks to you both.

I'll pull it apart tonight to take a look at the connections and figure out if its a hall or pot type.

Throttle acting funny, motor spinning without input

Small issue with testing my powertrain off of the vehicle before mounting anything. I did search for a while without finding anyone with this issue. I have one of those cheap, generic throttles you see on ebay and amazon with the anodized grips a sunwin brushless controller with adjustable voltage s...

Ah bummer, I see you put a new head tube on. I was going to ask what forks fit in the stock head tube.

Did you buy the new full front end as a kit? Looks real burly

Not to derail the conversation too much...

What are your mods to that red mx500 in the background? Looks like that has the rs650 wheels and some kind of non stock front forks?

Re: Chinese Pit Bike Conversion | Nucular 12F | LMX-Motor 60mm | 18s 16Ah LiPo

If you got some longer bolts that attach the frame to the battery case, you should be able to get some chinese pit bike foot pegs from ebay or amazon. May have to be a little creative on the mount to the frame but they would be way grippier especially when it gets muddy or wet. For instance: https:/...

Are you nervous those aluminum channels will bend under the stress from your weight during impacts? Aren't foot pegs usually mounted to those 2 holes in the lower part of the frame on pit bikes?

Re: Taycan video with some useful information

That was interesting to watch. The paint on the body was probably the most captivating for me because of how the booth eliminated so much overspray. The sleeves on the arms didn't look to have any paint on them. I would say the humans had significant work in the wiring and cable running section but ...

Wouldn't the axels be different sizes? I would think you would need adapters to fit the larger axel of a pit bike which lowers your affordability/cost cutting measure, could be wrong though.

Re: Is An Electric Short Board Worth The Portability?

I would look at it like how you would use them un-electrified. I would not have the stones to bomb a huge hill on a penny board or the will to push one 5 miles with my feet so close together. It also would be a bit of a pain to squeeze a full sized long board into a bag or a very crowded train if yo...

Re: Offroad Scooter recommendations?

Razor just released a lithium hub motor version of the e300. Kinda pricey for what it is, no suspension but 17mph top speed, gets an hour of riding, I think it's supposed to be water resistant. The tires are inflated so you could drop the pressure a smidge on them and that would add some cushion. $7...

How much was the battery? Did you get it with a charger?

I was planning on making the same thing, just had some other expenses come up.

Kill switch and fuse or breaker

Hopefully a quick discussion here, basically wanted to do a sanity check on my throttle and a kill switch option. Upgrading a brushed set up to learn some basics but I understand they tend to fail in a WOT position. So I wanted a handlebar mounted kill switch. The throttle I have is your basic twist...

Re: Very enthusiastic review of the mahindra genze 2 electric scooter

I always wonder what the picture will be now when people say electric scooter. Is it going to be a little fold up deal or what a lot of people would call a moped (without being a purist on the term). This article is kind of funny because it seems like this vehicle had never even occurred to them. I ...
