Re: Cyclone 3000 version 2.0

The cyclone is an excellent kit for the price if you get it dialed and have a good attachment method.

Some people aren't big fans, it happens, I am not a fan of hubs myself, that's life.

Re: The beginning of my final build ever

For 12kw peak, you are fine with qs 3000w hub. For 12kw cont, maybe qs 5000w, qs 8000w def would be enough. I get confused by those kw labels. Could you translate to actual QS models, like 138, 205 273 etc? The table here will show watts as a result of series number (2XX), winding (T) and magnet wi...

Re: The beginning of my final build ever

I would keep it simple and get a tuned sur ron or tune it yourself. If you need big range, you can get some extra batteries in pannier boxes. It will be better in every aspect than Yet Another Bomber Clone Build. By the way, with 12kw, and 100mph top speed, first, it isn't possible, second, if it wa...

Re: Slow acceleration for 72v 2000w ebike.

Hate to put it this way, but it would of been much better if you asked our opinion before you bought it. Anything to modify it will require quite some knowledge/time/money. That said the last part you will need to replace is the motor, they can take 2-3x rated power from factory. The bad news is, th...

You can put 2kg of machinery and electronics on your bike for $200, or do it the smart way for $1 and 10 gramms.

All of this is already in your bms if you use the in-built low power switch or an app of a bluetooth bms.

Re: Battery Disconnect method.

Issue is a proper battery disconnect, the new packs do not have there own disconnect switch. And finding a switch rated for 60 volts up to 50 amps is difficult ( in an aesthetic size ), Move into the digital age. Get a bluetooth BMS. You can turn the power off in the app. Discharge FETs will cut of...

Re: DIY vs. Commercial: How/ Why(not)?

TSDZ2 ain't gonna cut it, I would say a lot of the commercial bikes hit harder as they are true 700-800w. They de-rate their motors on paper to make it legal, with DIY chinese sellers doing the opposite. I have a bbs02 and I would buy nothing under a bbshd for DIY. The disadvantages (lack of waterpr...

Re: cyclone running

I'd say it's either controller or BMS issue. No info on either one, so cannot help. Nothing wrong with motor though. Thanks. This issue came after changing controller. But reason for changing controller was another issue with throttle (disappearing randomly). Thottle wiring needs to be checked. Was...

You can adapt the elite frame to dual side by using the fat rear triangle and some planning. It doesn't have the motor as a part of the suspension.

Datalogs Definitely looks like the wheel would bump into the battery on a big hit. Yup I lied. Tried to convinve myself as hard as I could... Nah, how could I build a bike that bottoms out... Lol. Bottoms right out. Gotta get a harder spring now. :( Been jumping. Mebbe that did it. :) You got plent...

Eyeball the distance between the center of the bb/crank axle to your tire. It is nylon, they say it in the luna unboxing video

Btw, you can fit the chain and chain cogs on it with some finesse, it is basically long vs short bracket.

I find the ride of the elite steel bike very comfortable, doing 30mph in river side banks, only thing you feel is a muted rumble under you. Re: Crank motor - Cyclone Coaxial

My attention was firstly drawn to 4.8kw but it states 4/4.8kw so different controller, plus this motor has no fins probably for mounting considerations. There have been some upgrades to this system since I got my bike. The weakness of the bike is that the motor likes to spin 750rpm with 72v at the ...

You want about 1.2kwh to do it smoothly without pedalling. Pedalling, about 800wh. This is with 20-90% charge cycle.

Re: Broken throttle? Goes full speed.

Get a quality waterproof throttle (I have domino, magura might be fine too, lower quality though). These $5 chinese jobs aren't waterproofed at all. Also hook up an e-brake, at least the rear one. It will still allow you to do burnouts with rear wheel while holding front brake. :)

Re: Yt Tues Comp DH + MXUS3000 (spare axle?)

Which one do you mean. Cyclone3000 with 60amp controller? Bike is very to heavy to pedal BTW It is hard to pedal because the seat angle isn't ideal and because of the severe pedal bobbing motion of a DH bike the suspension eats up a lot of energy. A motor will not care about these as it pulls unifo...

Terrible idea to put a motor as heavy as the whole bike in the rear wheel of an offroad mtb. Just no. Get a cyc if you want big power.
