Re: My mid-drive E-Skooter

Excess materials need to be cut/drilled to lighten the scooter.

Re: My mid-drive E-Skooter

Made this sprocket adapter from 6 mm and 3 mm aluminium sheet to drive the wheelbarrow wheel. A bit over engineered but really sturdy and it spreads the radial load evenly over the 8 'beams' of the wheel.

NIce.. I love high powered brushed motor :bigthumb: One question: Why don't you extend the motor plate so that it can attach to the lower engine mount?

My suggestions:

Ditch the front and rear shocks and put on these.

If you have the budget, get a proper 48V controller with proper Li-ion or Li-po pack from bmsbattery.com or Luna. Your riding experience will be transformed.

Re: 24V 450W MY1018 brush timing and no-load current

I recently purchased an my1018 in a 24v 450w configuration for a diy mid-drive build. I settled on that motor after a lot of research, but I wasn't able to find as much info about the electrical characteristics as I would have liked. So far, I've measured: Terminal ohms: ~0.185 ohms Kv: 178 rpm/v N...

You don't want a hardtail ebike. They suck hard unless you ride 10 mph.
I ride a hard tail, often on not so smooth roads. Not a big problem, unless you have a back pain or other type of injuries. Seat post suspension like those from Zoom, Suntour or Thudbuster would also help tremendously.

May I know where did you get the counter clockwise freewheel for the Currie/Unite motor? I only have the clockwise version (freewheels in CCW direction). :?: :?:

Re: Astral Rune build thread

Yes I did, The Astro standard motorshaft diameter is 3/8" (9.375mm). IIRC I bought sprockets with 8mm internal diameter (http://www.staton-inc.com/store/index.php?p=catalog&mode=catalog&parent=45&mid=0&search_in=all&search_str=&pg=2) and drilled them out to 3/8". Avner. I see, thanks.. :D What kind...

Re: Lead acid anyone?

Lead has zero advantages over lithium. The only reason why they are still around is legacy stuff like cars that run on dead liquid dino juice and car makers cant sell a car that requires a different battery type even if they really want to. That is why even a tesla still had a lead acid in the fron...

Re: Winter Project... Design and Build an eScooter

WOW! Nice build! :bigthumb: :bigthumb: :bigthumb: I have a few suggestions of you don't mind. 1. You may want to strengthen the part where the 'goose neck' of the scooter connects to the rectangular box (circled in red). This area will be subjected to heavy bending load during braking and when ridin...
