Re: 18650 DC arc welder

What a great topic. I love welding. I am what you call a self taught welder. I wish I had the proper education and training but I don't. (though I have been to both Lincoln Electrics factory in Cleveland and Millers in Appleton). I have not let that stop me though. I am also familiar with welding of...

Re: LifePO4 Lifespan (not cycle life)

I am interested in this topic. I am in the process of switching over my house batteries to lifep04. I currently have 4 Battle Born lifep04 batteries bought for over 5000.00 and will be buying 4 more soon. I am wanting these to be the last batteries I have to buy. Once I have a full bank of 8 (10.2 k...

Skorohod, great pictures but I am wondering what is going on with your bike petals? How can you pedal with them like that? are they broke?

Helmets are law for adults in BC and an east coast province, probably pei.
Every other province its not law for adults.
What? are you sure about that, I could have swore I read it was a requirement in Alberta.

I enjoy your pictures. No snow here yet even though I am further north than Calgary. As this picture shows from my walk last night, just mild temperatures. If you look close in the center of that picture is a big beaver, nibbling on willows right at the waters edge. He had no fear of me, I got to wi...

Bad idea. If you want to go faster and accelerate harder get a better battery, motor, controller and use flux weakening. Then you can have everything except your money. Flat tire, I think I have read every (or most) posts on this board since joining, but I am a infant in my understanding of much th...

Re: How crazy am I

Don't do it. You'll only be tempted to run your main pack down to its low-voltage cutoff, which is abusive to it. If your pack is 13S (48V nominal), then you can add a 1S supplementary pack of the same capacity (16Ah) for the entire discharge-- not just the end of the main pack's discharge. If your...

Skorohod, Those road conditions, or lack off, look like they would really put a bike to the test. Even at 50km a hour 350km in a day is way more hours on a bike seat than my spine could take.

Very interesting, I just may try that. I have been using a meat slicer to evenly thin cut potato's, spread them out on a paper plate, or better yes a plastic net, place in the microwave and cook. You have to watch each plate as the window of time from just right to burnt as a crisp is measured in se...

In the category of the worst built, worst operating pure sine unit I ever bought, used, or have seen is this POS. I wouldn't send it back to them for a refund because I wanted to own a example of the worst built (imho) sinewave inverter. pure junk.jpg https://www.amazon.com/Xantrex-PROWatt-Inverter-...

Bafang Motor Numbering

I have been trying to learn more about the motor I have on my bike. Being that this motor is on a manufactured bike from what I have been able to learn it looks like the wattage is not part of the numbering system like it is on some examples of Bafang motors. I suspect this is so the OEM can make mu...

Re: Rear Bafang hub motor speed hack?

As it turns out the motor has a 36km/h (22mph) speed cap. Which I find pretty stupid. I have a 850c display in which I put the speed limit to 99kmph, but that changes nothing to the speed. So Iā€™m guessing the speed cap is programmed in the controller ? Run the bike off ground (upside down, etc), so...

Re: How crazy am I

If you want a minimum amount of speed, then you have to get more battery in series with the same amp-hour capacity. You take your current battery, if it be 13S and you get another 2S and you take the ground of the 13S connect it up to the controller, the red postiive of the 13S pack to the 1S or 2S...
