Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

On the 3 motors I have sitting here, its water damage that has been the failure on all 3. Odd failures though as all 3 are from different overall problems, but has ended up with the controller damaged. Its odd as the only way in for the water is through the silicon where the leads go through or the...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive and 850C and SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I can use the ST Link V2 dongle with no problems for the 850C display, and other stm32 boards, it works perfectly. I bought a second ST Link V2 dongle but the problem keeps the same. I didn't know you could use a ST Link V2 to program the 850C display. I use separate cables for each - as much becau...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Is there any way to verify that the roller clutch on the blue gear is faulty? I have lost power on my motor. If I turn on walk mode then I can hear a whine which sounds like the motor spinning up. After a couple of seconds it cuts out. The teeth on the blue gear looked fine. So I took the sprag clut...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Thanks. Good to know. It looked possible but I hadn't heard many people saying it was a successful method. I broke my second LCD3 screen a week or so ago (turned my bike upside to fix a puncture mid journey in the rain and the screen cracked) so I picked up an 850C as it was the same price as a repl...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Judging by the comments here: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/SW102_LCD_Bluetooth/issues/35 It looks like a couple of people are having a look into it. I'm not sure if I understood the limitations, but I thought that it was possible to load the current firmware via a bootloader but you ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Found a youtube video taking a completely different approach knocking the lot out from the rear which worked albeit probably potentially not too good for the health of the torque sensor. The only thing that seems looks faulty/seems odd ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

See here: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/TSDZ2_wiki/wiki/FAQ#Torque_sensor Thanks for the info. Things are clearer now. What I still do not know is how did the others press in the torque sensor while the inner ring is pressed by the small springs towards it. A lot of people worked on ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Bearings are a maintenance part. You can open the dust shield, clean and pack with fresh grease.

Looks like its worth a spray of WD40 behind the dust shield every now and again to get rid of moisture.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

The torque sensor is death again. Is the second time!!! The coils lost their antifriction tape.Is destroyed. May be the bad chain line make a lateral force and bend the sensor. The three little springs canĀ“t controller the gap between the coils.I find the movable sensor coil (and chainring) too deeps...

A bike cover (https://www.decathlon.co.uk/protective-bike-cover-id_2556471.html) will help with rain and snow and to a limited extent with condensation too. You can get light weight versions that pack into a small bag for transporting too. However you may need to bring the bike inside to remove any ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I remember someone asking this question before but can't remember if there was a reply. Does anyone know the specs or a supplier of the springs for the torque sensor? My motor stopped giving any power(I only have about 20 miles on it so far). Something meant that the bottom sheet of the torque senso...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi I should change my torque sensor. Should I hit with hammer on axis to enter it or not (it's hard with hand) ? Hitting with a hammer isn't a problem. I would remove the pedal shaft first though. There is a roller bearing in the centre of the housing that the torque sensor fits into (and spins on)...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I gave up with the back and forth to china over my problem with the Torque sensor (reading about 118-120 on startup with a max value of 130 when standing on the pedals) and decided to crack it open to calibrate the torque sensor. I haven't had enough time to put the bike back together enough to test...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

@ImpulsePurchase Maybe the stationary coil is not positioned/aligned correctly in regards with rotary coil, over the whole crank rotation. You can get into the menu for the torque settings by holding the ? And power button for 10 seconds (like the standard option menu but for longer). I'm assuming you have the vlcd5 display here. Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Okay. I think I have figured out why I only sometimes get power. It seems that if I power on at different crank alignments I get different base torque sensor readings and as I rotate the cranks then the base level changes. In my earlier testing my max rE1 I could get by standing on the pedals was ab...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Sorry if this has already been put to bed (but with 235 pages its a little difficult to find now) - but does the open firmware fix high default torque sensor settings?
