Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Tested the latest version this weekend and same issue, no assist at lower cadence. On road, if you are getting up to a nice speed on flat for example and decide to upshift to lower your cadence and accelerate, the motor power immediately drops and you lose speed instead of the desired acceleration....

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi, I just installed 1.0.0 alpha 5 on my bikes. During a test ride it seems the motor is cutting out all power when you drop under a certain cadence. My husband's bike has a 42 tooth ring so he really noticed it on the steep hills and was struggling to keep moving at points. I can't see anything ab...

Re: TSDZ2, blew the blue gear....

Not really sure why you chose a TSDZ2 to do hardcore riding on elk trails. I would think there are better options. You would be better off with a frame that has a motor mount if you are an aggressive rider, or a hub motor perhaps.

Re: Bafang BBSHD BBS02 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware

I would like to see this flexible open source firmware support more kits. The Tongsheng TSDZ2 has some issues that put ppl off: no fat bike support from the factory. There is a pricey 3rd party extension that only 1 or 2 merchants sell and it frequently breaks. the motor case is fragile. There are ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Just tried to update from 0.68 to 0.80 and I get the error e:firmware when booting it up (sw102 display, nrf toolbox 4.5.1 on iOS 13) Any ideas what I need to check? I've downgraded to 0.69 (I had downloaded it but never installed) now which works. As an aside, any way to keep your configuration sa...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

New SW102 Firmware: Hey guys, I'd like to but I can't find this in the masses of information. I just updated my SW102's to the latest firmware via bluetooth. Now neither motors work. I went through the settings and I don't see anything I am missing. They just don't engage and the speed sensor does n...

There's no benefit to using the stock firmware. Is this just because you don't want to open it up? I am pretty sure you can buy them pre-flashed now.

Quick question. Is there some kind of brake indication that comes up on the SW102 screen when brake is engaged? Added a brake sensor and would like to know if I wired it properly before reinstalling it to the bike. However, no symbol is coming up like on KT-LCD3.

You make a good point cavi...I'm considering that too...I don't like the idea of losing that climbing ability either. That's an interesting idea SlowCo; I hadn't considered that. Trade-offs are always tough...I want it all!!! From experience it is the best option. With an ebike in general you...

Re: Helmet bike mounted cameras

Keep in mind what happened to Michael Schumacher, when he hit the snow with a helmet camera. These things can do serious damage to your helmet and skull if you come off . Agree, mount the camera on your "dash". You can buy cheap handlebar mount extensions that work great for this. FYI, we have ebik...

Re: Fork vibration with Mac hub motor

I'm tired of the vibration, it seems to be a known issue with the KT controller on some geared hubs. I wish I had known that in advance. It's not losing sync at high speed, the problem is at low to mid speed with low PAS. It is more tolerable when the controller is in speed control mode, but I want...

Re: Dropped padded battery. Some of the heatshrink cracked. How can I "safely" salvage this?

This is strictly my opinion as to what I would do with that battery. With the covers off and all of the cells exposed take it to a safe location and put it through a complete charge/discharge cycle. If necessary build a test load for the discharge. Monitor for the entire test looking for hot spots ...

Dropped padded battery. Some of the heatshrink cracked. How can I "safely" salvage this?

To make a very long story short, a while ago my brick battery fell off my truck. Though the voltage was fine, to be safe I disassembled it and the force of the hit has unravelled some of the shrink wrap on the cells. I have checked every cell and though you can't see in the picture very well, the ba...

Re: Physical damage to the cell, happy I'm not on fire

I had something similar happen, but the cells aren't physically damaged that I can see (battery was padded), but the twisting force cracked some of the heat shrink on the cells. Any suggestions?

Do I have to buy a spot welder to fix this "safely"?

Do yourself a favour and buy an ebike tester. SOOO much easier to test all your wires for shorts. You can buy them on Aliexpress. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33003653797.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.66114ddbcbyEH1&algo_pvid=e2ea569a-3a22-4ad1-bbb4-c76083a869fa&algo_expid=e2ea569a-3a22-4ad1-bbb...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Did some extensive testing of the SW102 and it works flawlessly so far. The only weird issue is if you have the brake on when turning on the motor, you get "motor not found" error. Another thing is I think having a throttle is the way to go mountain biking. It allows you to have easy access to "walk...

Hey all I'm pretty confused about what version works with what. Should the latest hex for TSDZ2 work with Alpha 0.19.12? I see you all are talking about higher versions, but for the life of me I can't find them. The link in the wiki goes here: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/SW102_LCD_...

That's really cool. I just made mine using one of these: https://www.amazon.ca/Exerpeutic-1110-300SR-Foldable-Recumbent/dp/B004O6TXVS/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Exerpeutic&psc=1&qid=1570999764&sr=8-4 and an old spring-loaded CRT monitor arm which happens to fit my laptop nicely. Not very exciting....
