Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I am considering giving up on this project lately as it seems to be severely limited by the motor capability. For my applications, I find it underpowered, and too easy to overheat. Nearly every ride, I find myself wishing it was just a BBSHD. I really don't think it's worth the time or money to try...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I also noted the Eco-Bikes have lots of different cables (1T1, 1T2, etc https://www.eco-ebike.com/search?q=1T1). Would I need one of these cables to programme the 860C or the TSDZ2? If not, what are these cables for? 1T1 is if you only have a display. 1T2 adds throttle. 1T3 and 1T4 add one or two b...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Battery max current default to 16A: a developer found the issue and did a pull request. Higher max current on Field Wakening: I solved this issue. All this changes are on the main branch and will be included on a next release. Hi Casaino, It's always good to see fixes for the bugs that are there! W...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

(5) After I get this all figured out and working correctly, I need to set up a flash so that it will flash all these default settings that we need for handcycles. Will someone do that for me if I give them the settings after I get them figured out? Without this OSF Firmware, the TSDZ2 just doesn't ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive and 850C and SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I downloaded the source and after some tinkering I got it to compile. However, there is no eeprom.h in TSDZ2-Smart-EBike-TSDZ2-v1.0.0 among the sources. What file do I edit to change the defaults in the compiled firmware? You need to make changes only on the display firmware, on the firmware/common...

But to do so I had to tweak manually the makefiles and add some declarations because windows handles the ...

The HEX file is for the TSDZ2 controller, only that has changed.
For LCD3, the buba 20 beta 1 version is still fine.
Ok, got it. Having LCD3 in the title of the hex file made us think it was for the KT-LCD3. We will try it in the motor today. Thanks!

Re: Tsdz2 firmware open source adapted to vlcd5, vlcd6 and xh18

@revher, I don't understand how the gear sensor can work with the speed sensor. The gear sensor simply closes an open circuit while the cable is moving. On a bafang this causes the motor to cut off for 800ms. If you hook it up to a brake sensor then it cuts the motor for closer to 2 seconds. The TSD...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive and 850C and SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

If I’m looking to buy a tsdz2 motor is there a recommended hardware setup that would allow the most freedom when running the open source software? I’d like to have a 750W, 48V mid-drive that will accommodate a rear coaster brake. I’ve seen someone state that one of the 36v versions Converted to 48v...

Hi Casainho, did you receive the 860C from https://www.electrifybike.com that they sent you? They flashed it before they sent it with the 850C flash using the same method and it worked almost. If you hold down the power button while powering up then the display will display but the color mapping is...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

What setup do you guys recommend for UPDATING both, the display and the controller? Following the WIKI, it's recommended to cut off the connector of the 850C, and hardwire it to an extension wire that fits to the TSDZ2's original plug hardness? So you need an extension wire and cut that to the corr...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Jeff, the way you wrote this is a little confusing. Let me clarify: v20 alpha 10 had steady and reliable cadence readings on the KT-LCD3 display v20 beta 1 cadence jumps around by as much as 40 and is not steady. This makes me wonder if there was a code change in the cadence low-pass filter in v20 ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Is the BBSHD better at maintaining RPM and torque as the battery discharges? I had a BBS01b and while virtually silent, its biggest drawback (other than PAS) was the huge loss of torque / power at decent RPMs. In fact even with a fully charged battery the max RPM was limiting without "hot-rodding" ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

working with bafang engines is a good idea. But the bbshd is too powerful. There are transmission problems, the chains are broken, free wheels and hubs. Even the rear of most bicycles flexes with its power. I have been using a BBSHD for far longer than the TSDZ2 and what you say is quite frankly wr...
