Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Hey Zeronest, thanks for sharing. I wonder if you have the same sw version (despite the fact it's em100). Regarding the decel lag you're describing, try to set both rate of rise and rate of decline to 255 (page1). There's a noticeable difference in motor response, but still not what we're after. Mi...

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

I am using votol em100 with qs 200w motor in small motocross bike and am also having some power cut outs, often when I am applying a lot of throttle but the wheel cannot spin ( if the wheel can spin It doesn't seem to cut ) I lowered the undervoltage value and it seems to have helped but I have stil...

I'm looking at the isdt q8, it seems it'll serve me well. Any reason you put the psu's in series?
The charger will charge with 12v input but it will only supply 15A of charge current, if you want the full 30A output it needs at minimum 24v input

Re: Faster 6s balance charger?

I'm using an isdt t8 1000w 30a 8s charger being powered by 2x hp dps 1200fb 1200w psu in series for 24v, cost approx £120 and charges my 18s 20ah lipo pack from flat in about 2 hours or less, i split the pack and charge 3x 6s cells in parallel. Theres cheaper options but I like to balance charge eve...

Re: Motor for fast e-bike

The QS 3000w mid motor kit is really powerful. If you want to go 50-60 km/h then it’s too large, also to fit it on a bike won’t be easy. Motor alone weighs 10kg and fits on a motorbike The QS 1000w or 2000w mid motor kit will be better for the job and would be what i would choose before the other t...

Re: Your Creation's Before & After Pics

I had the bbshd on a voodoo bike previous to this but the frame snapped at the top tube. I spent about a week searching online trying to find the ideal bike for the bbshd 68mm, this one was on sale at chain reaction for £2000 and although my budget was 500 I thought I would go for it   If...

That's coming along great!, you definitely need some footpegs!

I used to use an old large innertube cut open for rubber to use as a rear mud guard to protect the shock

Re: another pit bike conversion

Had a couple more test rides on this bike now, upped the controller amps to 150 and then realised how completely absurd this motor is for this tiny bike! now dropped it back to 100A and tempted to go further but its so much fun! Received this throttle, And it works great! much better response than t...

@larsb Which manual are you reading from? I've been using the 2000w motor with em100 controller a little bit now but cannot seem to make the throttle response sharper in controller settings, is this just the nature of a low kv motor without reduction drive? I have switched off soft start which helpe...

I haven't done much testing but with the way I ride it i cant see more than 15-20km range Time for more battery then... Seriously! I could fit twice the battery i have under the frame and the motor would not notice the extra weight whatsoever, if i did double the battery it would only be ...

Re: another pit bike conversion

Nice build! :thumb: Maybe get a 12" rear and a 14" front wheel combo in that bike if it would fit? Thanks bud! Yeah 12/14 would be far far more suited for this motor although probably still complete overkill, And I am very tempted to build up another chassis in the near future but 10" wheels are su...

Re: another pit bike conversion

So I mounted up the motor, just a matter of making some small mounts - 8 in total and a bracket under the frames top tube to mount the controller too, and then finally I knocked up a basic lower frame mount for the time being to mount the batteries, batteries currently fitted super snug with foam in...

been testing my qs2000w motor and votol em100 today, this motor pulls very well indeed, infact its a bit overkill for my little bike! but oh my is it good fun!  the controller busbar was pre set to 85 amps and bumping it to 100 made a very noticeable difference and 150 amps in sport mode...

Re: another pit bike conversion

Recently received the 2000w motor with votol em100sp controller combo, decided not to convert my crf50 but built up another cheap 10" pit bike to convert, will probably be damn inefficient but should be a lot of fun! Re: CRF250 Build

sounds like a great bike to convert to me, the crf150 is a steel frame but a smaller bike too, in terms of frame weight though there really isn't a massive difference between and aluminium and steel frame if that's why you're thinking aluminium..

Just received mine. My usb cable is exactly the same. Blue and orange is crossed in the plug, and the black Wire is cut. Ah ok, not sure what the reason for them switching them is, but it guess it doesn't matter, the colours are wrong but the connections remain the same, it made me believe they had...

Re: QS 3000w midmotor

I recently received the 2000w motor, I noticed someone had water in the hall sensor, is there a gasket on the plate? or only silicone? I'm wondering if its possible to place a paper gasket to stop water getting in..

would there be any other areas on the motor which might need protecting?

Thanks

Re: Chinese Pit Bike Conversion | Nucular 12F | LMX-Motor 60mm | 18s 16Ah LiPo

@ZERONEST Thank you! I thought about that motor too but it would be too overkill for this small bike. Also the size would be a problem. The distance between the two straight arms on my frame is only 220mm wide. With an overall length of 215mm the QS would stick out to one side in order to maintain ...

This is what I found: pin 14 main plug - orange CAN-L/TXD pin 15 main plug - blue CAN-H/RXD have you asked QS for documentation? I have, they sent me pointers, but haven't yet confirmed that I may publish them. But I think you'll find earlier versions along this thread and I don't think that wiring...

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

thanks for all those newbie questions I did not dare to ask :thumb: regarding the 2-wire: might it be that it is CAN-based, not serial? I'd expect 3 wires (CAN-Hi, CAN-Lo, GND) for CAN as well, bus as some dark remembrance I think I had read somwhere that GND is not mandatory (no warranty on that),...
