Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I've lost my desire to buy a Sur Ron. The problem with it is it looks too much like a motorcycle to ride on the street without registration, and then you can't ride it on the city bike paths. All things considered my Bomber is better suited for the riding I do. The only thing that's bugging me is m...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Im not so sure that cell count is correct as the P100D has only 8,256 cells. I get your point though. I really only want about fifty cells, as I was hoping to get another year or two out of my relatively recently purchased battery, with a bit of cell replacement. There seems to be a few paral...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Nice one TV. They still haven't caught up to me though :P The pack I just build for a Hurricane (would also fit a Bomber) was 42AH. And it's possible to fit 49AH. I still have about 150 cells left over from my last build...not sure what to do with them yet. Cheers 147 cells is plenty to make somebo...

First charge on first homemade pack (21s 7p Sony VTC6) with ride tests and tuning the controller complete. The bike is now an absolute rocket ship now. Im Using the 300 amp Ant-Bluetooth BMS and Im very happy to being able to completely turn the BMS off, monitor individual cell voltages, balance on ...

Here’s some facts:  Dear Jack, please go on and keep making a fool of yourself. It's great to read. :thumb: But if you actually read around this forum you will find people that are designing and building their own electric motor, controller, battery packs and/or EV. Aus have a massive luxury car tax on cars over $75,526 (at 33%) the irony of this tax was to protect the local car industry, however, there is no car industry left in Aus I blame the government The amount tax on some things is dumb But we could also have a small scale giga factory in AU, we have a b...

Oh !...so what would you prefer to call this ?....a “box of gears “ maybe ? http://imageshack.com/a/img924/1425/sDjOhK.jpg Strange that.. most people with a basic understanding of drive systems refer to that assembly of gears and shafts between the mot...

None of these things apply to EV's! Maybe not, but EVs have their own specific issues.. https://insideevs.com/news/376037/tesla-mcu-emmc-memory-issue/ Tesla transmission replacements.. Maintenance... As i said, many manufacturers offer “capped price “ servicing for the duration of the warranty period ( 3,-5, even 7 years !) for example , Toyota service fees are capped at Au$140 (US$100) per year. Also its common to be offered “free servicing” when negotiating a new car sale ! EVs...

Yeah, it's all marketing- normal buying public has no idea about it, and focuses on substance and style. Nothing special- every company does that. This truck is not geared towards the Good Ole' Boys and never was. It's geared towards suburbanite warriors- people who want to be different in some way...

And thanks for the spare belt! I think I will drop it down to 175A (from 190 currently) and see how it goes. No, no, you will have a spare belt so you need to test out where the limit of the belt is! Just increase the phase amps until the belt looses its teeth or breaks so other owners know how far...

Re: Covering 18650 cells with epoxy resin

I bought the exact spot welder as above but was unsuccessful in spot welding Nickel plated copper. It handles Nickel wonderfully though. I wonder how many amps, joules it takes to do copper and if the higher amps become a detriment to the negative side of the 18650?

This is not really the correct place for the discussion ... EM3EV offers similar chargers and is a reputable vendor who stands behind his product. From the title of this thread and your response one could easily get the impression that Luna Cycle products are suspect and that the only positive repl...

Re: Hub drive torque limitations. Steep hills while towing a child?

And a nice fat powerful motor, of any wind. NO NEED for him to chose a slow wind, if he choses big power. He'll simply never be overloaded. This is the best answer. For pulling 4-500lbs up a grade and going 45 mph simply design in a bigger hub motor something like MXUS, Crystalyte 5304 or similar. ...
