Re: My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

Problem is none of these motors are truly identical I've had 3 with differing scooter and they have had physically differing dimensions by 10mm, the amount of turns and KV different, I've only ever run them on trapiz, I've had a simular story with a Dualtron hub motor on a vesc but that was to do wi...

Got to laugh at how arsy this thread is and the complete novice approach of believing what people say, it's good to say the guy is gone in that disguise for good but these threads of dribble will live on. Chargery 24s unit is where it's at not the RC Lipo chargers that's where beginners start and no...

Re: Charger repair needed UK

I had a problem few months ago where the charger connector got hot by the end of charge and melted the plastic inside lucky the pins didn't touch They didn't touch but maybe they arced? (guessing canon XLR 3-pin connector) Anyway, ya gotta wonder why that happened, that's a lot of heat when there s...

_IMG_000000_000000.jpg In kubergs infinite wisdom they have potted the board to the case so unless someone knows a trick how to remove that without destroying it I'm gonna have to get a new charger, Proberly end up selling the complete bike spares or repairs still working because I cant afford the ...

Re: Charger repair needed UK

No dodgy caps all flat, the pic is a camera phone special redudced to 500mb sorry, but nothing obvious on show next step is to release it from the board and check under the board for any signs or arcing if not it's the yellow transformer winding failed I'd say it's coming from that area and nothing ...

Charger repair needed UK

I've got a kuberg freerider and the charger has started to click when I turn it on I've taken the lid off and can hear it's coming from the main transformer in the middle of the board. _IMG_000000_000000.jpg I had a problem few months ago where the charger connector got hot by the end of charge and ...

63× molicel p42a 1kwh £211.05 bare no interconnects no bms no cell containment system I'd say your looking at at least double that in materials then assembly costs and your balls deep in a biggy with conversion factors and scale of quantity the price sounds about right for some regen capability on t...

I liked the idea of using a downhill stem and handle bars if it's going to be alloy I'd suggest 5mm for the thickness for the downtube with the ID of 28.6mm if I can remeber correctly for a standard fork, I got a tapered fat bike fork with a frame i can get the headtube from and was going to use it ...

Re: My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

It appears so but that doesn't make any sense. That's why I want to try the motor with my Kelly controller. Flip a phase and the matching hall the motor will spin backwards and give you that power in forward rotation if it's the case. E.g. yellow to green phase and halls then blue to blue on both p...

Re: My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

This may be a dumb question but do these motors run better in one direction versus the other? This is motor only, ignoring controller settings. Thanks Equal torque and rpm in either direction, wouldn't want to ram it in reverse mind going flat out the sprocket will proberly spin on the motor shaft,...

Re: My1020 / Kunray / YaLU 1000 - 2000W motor ?

I do think some of my heating problems was to do with the cheap trapiz controller not being tuned for the motor leaving unwanted currents in the core making it get hotter at 4.4kw on a trapize controller compared to 4.4kw vesc in FOC mode, could have proberly tipped the 5kw mark if the mechanics of ...

Re: Controller recommendations for alternator motor.

My initial guess from listening to Benjamin from short circuit I mean vesc there's an issue running very low inductance motors on vesc below hardware version 7, vesc 7 has a low pass filter to help drive the motor timing more accurately.

Re: Controller recommendations for alternator motor.

Flipsky got a 75/200 vesc that could push any alternator to it's limit, the more power you put in the primary field coils the slower the motor runs but the more torque it produces. Play about with a lab power supply and see how much you can feed the primary before it gets hot then set that as the ba...

The nuclear of old will become a dirty trick the government's used for an excuse to have shit loads of war heads, the nuclear of the future if given chance could be what saves the humans thirst for energy but we got to not blow everything up we made with the first few rounds of nuclear (energy) Soun...

Re: Kuberg freerider owners look here if you don't like fire.

Next on my list is the chsrger unit itself its completely blind as to what's going on other than turning the bike on and seeing charge level on a simple 3 stage led indicator, that's fine for when I'm riding I've got a good judge of what's going on as I've learnt the bike with time but as for chargi...

Re: Guess what! It's an e300 :)

Way off you won't be pulling peak power all the time and if you have regen there's a little top up, pack of that size get you a good hour and half. I used to have 16s16ah of Lipo and get 14 miles range flat to the boards at 48mph racing white van man through steep twistys but if have a good section ...

Re: Kuberg freerider owners look here if you don't like fire.

If thats the case i can't see them doing much there's peaks of over 200amps going through them might stop outside interference getting in at the bms? Charger is sorted now done a cycle of the batts from empty as I like to take it, that's normally hour and half before the constant voltage side kicks ...

Re: Kuberg freerider owners look here if you don't like fire.

They remind me of what's found on the old PlayStation controllers with leads I thought that was for interference on signal wires but these don't carry signal just dc so I'm lost never seen it before on any ride.
